Will she worth it.... I will wait a few days before i decide to buy it or not.

I noticed she is more realistic.  That seems to be different than previous Aiko's.

 previous aikos had realism morphs, but is necessary to put out new models periodically AFAIK.

I like one of her outfits, but I can't be bothered to use DSON to try gene in poser... oh well.

Poor Aiko...she has slowly lost her charm since Aiko3. 

She doesn't look like an anime girl any more.  She's much more realistic looking than Hiro 5.

I wasn't that impressed...lol. I'll stick with the base Gennies.

Yea, that was my thought.  Instead of an Anime/Manga style with realistic morphs, she is more realistic.  She looks more like a Vicki character morph...which is fine, but different.  Nice but I don't need another character morph. 

Hitomi is more of that old-anime-look nowadays.

I'm not much into Anime/Manga and I'm also not that enthusuastic about Genesis in general any more (At least momentarily), but I do like the new Aiko.

Never liked Hitomi. Sorry. She's funny, cute, but not pretty.

And even though she looks very realistic in the promos, she captures the "look and feel" of the original Aiko 3 quite well, I think.

I have a problem with the "realistic" Genesis characters like V5 and M5 because they lack bodydetail due to their low res mesh. Too realistic to be toons, too stylized to be realistic.

But a figure like Aiko looks perfectly fine with Genesis.

Wouldn't be surprised if she will get used a lot more than V5, or if at least most future female Genesis characters will use some "Aiko" in their morphs.

The body detail is best done via bump, displacement and normal maps.

By default Genesis is set to a subdivsion level of 1.  You can increase that to 2.

Setting it to 2 doesn't add detail to the morphs. It just makes the mesh smoother. The morphs are created at base resolution. It's like me Blowing up a picture and expecting the same quality as the original. By adding a higher sub-d it doesn't make a difference to the morph. You cannot make high detailed morphs on a sub-d version of Genesis only at base, so the appearance of the morph will look the same, just smoother, but not more defined.

Yes Zev I know.  I brought it up cause of the "low-res mesh" comment. 

Either way you can get decent detail on Genesis. M5 is a good example of that.

I can't use Genesis but I'm envious of the various toon morphs possible with the figure... I think that the examples that ZevO posted are definitely in the spirit of Aiko. At the risk of being overly Poser Figure nerdish there is still only one authentic Aiko, though. I'm sure there are others that hold this view.

I am a die-hard Aiko 3 user and I will not change.  However, I dont mind making room for Genesis and its different character shapes including A5.  I really think that Genesis is a wonderful platform for the toon figures since the previous ones always lacked clothing support.

mattymanx, you're not the only Die-hard Aiko 3 user. Aiko 3 looks like she walked right out of an anime/manga shop in Akihabara. She's best of the bunch still IMHO. It's really easy to see Aiko 3 as Sailor Saturn, Pretty Samy, Major Motoko Kusanagi, Gally of Gunnm, or even Magical-Walnut-chan. ( - .^)

I agree with the positive commenters here.  I think its a great looking sculpt for genesis and lends well to that figure pool.  Not for me but great work, regardless.

$40 for a morph? I don't think so, even $27 is way to much.... what can she do that Aiko 4 can't do? Oh, yes, I remember..... cause me a huge headache when the DSON plugin decided to not do what it should do..... once again. As long as anything needs DSON count me out. There are much less expensive ways to get a headache and the wall is always free.

I don't think DAZ did a very good job transfering Aiko 3 to Genesis.

She looks quite soft and unfinished. Despite being stylized, Aiko 3 still has sculpted kneecaps, a proper bellybutton, some folds where the breasts meet the chest and an actual collarbone.

Proportions are a bit off, too.

I can understand why people don't want to use her.

I do love Aiko 3. I can understand the anime fans being somewhat disappointed with the default look of the new version. OTOH, what I like about Aiko 3 is the wonderful characters like Thorne's faeries that people have created with her rather than the her default anime look. Zev0's characters look great, so based on that I'd say she's a fine addition.

Because I can't make full use of Genesis figure in Poser  I will not use any new figures from DAZ.

Hmmm... you know every time someone mentions an A3 morph for Genesis I just want to cringe. Somehow blasphemous. A4 they can have... that's a morph anyway. But A3 absorbed by the amorphous G amoeba! Well, It's their products afterall.

Yea, I was just meaning the newer incantations.  I have the A3 and H3 Shapes for Genesis set, specifically got it for A3...but of course none of my A3 characters work on her.  I a lot of time (in the old Daz forum) working on transferring characters via the Transfer Tool, got very close, but failed.  Generation X has been sitting in my wishlist since, waiting on a sale.  :(

She does not look quite the same, as JP mentioned, so not sure if/when I will even go there. Would like to see how GenX transfers Sylfie, Salome, Aiko19, Pazu and Mulberry to Genesis?  (@mattymanx, I know you have a lot of these, have you tried that?)

If that resulted well, I just may need to dive-in to the Gen-pool :)

Yeah, same boat as you.  I have not purchased GenX yet either.  Maybe soon, I dont konw.

Genesis has a belly button depth slider.
Genesis has a lot of sliders & mix morphs.
There's a lot you can do with just the sliders & mix morphs.
Even if sliders & mix morphs are not enough ,Genesis has zBrush.
There are no limits.
Zev0's A3 might not be the 100% orginal A3 but she looks good ,does she not ?
Maybe even better then the orginal A3.

lol I wasn't trying to make her look like A3, just tried to make A5 look more anime like.. But thanks man:) And yes there are few limits with G, like the low poly mesh can be difficult to make morphs with. But for once my characters can look different to eveybody elses, I can add that unique element to it via mixing morphs and shapes. I get tired of seeing the same figure preset on all these renders, but now I can easily add a bit of what I want in them. G gives me that option. But this ain't about G, it's about A5, and bottom line is I am happy with her. Plus the textures she comes with is nice as well:) And yes, A3 on Genesis could have been done much better..

zBrush ,I mean there's no limits with zBrush.

Poser & D/S Studio both have zBrush as a plugin.

So ya could make GA3 look 99.9% like A3.
