Subject: How can I save a MAT in the pose library that changes the entire body texture?

For certain figures where I've given it a custom texture in the materials room, I want to save it as a MAT in the pose library so that I don't have to go through the whole tedious process of applying the texture to each individual body part in the materials room. I know this is common knowledge for vendors who create their own characters where you can just apply the MAT with one click and it changes either head texture or body texture.

How exactly do I do this? If I just add to library in the Pose tab, it will save the pose rather than the MAT.

Go to the Material library tab and save it as a material collection.  If you need it as a pose, a bit of Googling will tell how to convert the .mc6 file into a MAT pose in a text editor.....

Well I'm already saving it as a material collection in the Material library tab. I just thought someone here might know how to save it as a pose in the Pose tab.

you cannot, you have to save as a material collection, then convert to a.pz2 in a text editor.

although there is a python script/plug-in that will make .pz2s and .ds files from within Poser.

look for 'MatPoseWriter' over at RDNA.

save a material collection and give up mat pose files.

Easier as a Mat Collection which can be applied to figures and props.  MATPoses will only apply to figures without problems; MATPoses for props would require a figure to be present and the prop parented to the figure.

Yeah, I say ditch the mat pose file and just use a material collection ;). I haven't made a mat pose file for anything that I've made since Poser 6. It's time that old, kludgy workaround goes the way of the dinosaur ;).

If you've saved it as a material collection there shouldn't be any tedium, the texture should apply to the whole figure with one click.

Agreed. A material collection is not and should not be a pose.
