"What 3D Program Should I buy?" Not one person here can really tell you what's best for you, as everyone has their own taste in workflow. Try the demo or learning edition of the program you're interested in, this is the only way to find out which programs you like.

Hi all first, all links from the URL I supplied have deliberately been broken because Im just not ready to show the site yet... :) In fact, this page isnt ready... *shrug* but we have been discussing this at the Rhino forum so I thought I'd go ahead and show the tutorial... http://www.posertech.com/tutor/hair1.html This shows step by step how to create fur with uvmapping that can be used in programs like poser (or any uv map supporting program). I have been perfecting this technique for a while now and think its ready for model creators (poser and others) to use and advance on. This could be very useful to making those animals you make look more realistic and should offer a few ideas on other ways to use the technique. Also would love some input on suggested ways to improve the technique..while keeping the poly count and render times low. Poser will render this hair in ~1.5 minutes for a high res picture..and the model for the cat is around 13000 polygons..the one for the bat is ~6000 polys. later BT
