Subject: Can't Register Reality 3

kimbersue ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2013 at 11:10 AM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 12:30 PM

Anyone else having problems registering Reality 3?  I can get reality to load in 32 bit poser 2012 but can't get it to register. Only the cancel button works. With 64 bit folder, reality will not load when opening 64bit poser 2012.

Getting any errors?  Also I was asked to open poser and check top task bar..Windows...See if on bottom there is a folder called Addons...Now shows up both in my Win XP and Win7 64 bit...Still an idio how to use Reality3 but that is something I will work on

Yes the addon folders are there and show reality installed.

Thanks  :)

Hi.

The buttons become active once you enter your Reality 3 serial number.

Please note that the number is different from the Reality 2 serial number so make sure that you have the right one, in case you have upgraded from R2.

Once the number is recognized the buttons will activate.

Please note that you must match the bitness of Reality with the one of Poser. You must install Reality 32-bit for Poser 32-bit and Reality 64-bit for Poser 64-bit. The bitness cannot be mixed.

Just as a reminder, programs installed in "C:Program Files" are 64-bit apps, and programs installed in "C:Program Files (x86)" are 32-bit apps.

All the best.

I double check and 64 is in the 64 and 32 in the  x86.

I am including a screen shot to show you what I mean that only the cancel button works even after I add all the text. You can't paste in the key or the register window closes so I hand type it all in and still only the cancel button works.   Thanks

Hi.

I can assure you that the 32/64-bit part works. It has been installed by hundreds of users and it is in use every day in that configuration. What is not always obvious is that Windows can lock files and prevent overwriting them.

To correct the issue you should restart the computer and avoid starting Poser. Then delete the whole Reality directory in the addons dir. and re-install the correct version of Reality.

The buttons are disabled by the program, it is a feature designed to prevent clicking the registration when there is no correct data. Once the name, order number and serial numbers are all entered the buttons automatically enable.

Make sure that you have the latest version of Reality, 3.0.1.193, re-download it from you account or from our website ( http://preta3d.com/tasks/Reality3Download.php ) and install it as described above.

Make sure that you do not copy other characters like blanks or newlines when you copy the serial number to the clipboard. If in doubt then type the serrial number one character at the time. The registration window has been tested by hundreds of installations so we know that it works.

If you need further help, given the confidential nature of the registrayion data, the best way to contact us is via email. The address is in the Reality User's Guide but here it is for your convenience: reality at preta3d dot com

Thank you.

Just fill in the form with the right details, hit automatic button.

That's all I had to do.

All the best.

The first name and the last name have to be entered exactly as they appear in the email with the order number and serial/license number.  I found out the hard way with the name info (took 2 or 3 tries before I thought to double check to see what name I had used). Also, if your doing a copy/paste make sure you have no leading or trailing spaces in any of the info.

Found the problem, my norton/comcast firewall was blocking me sending the information via the internet. After I add it to the trusted and typed in the information (it won't let me paste in the key or anything) but the main thing is after I hand typed it, it works.
