I am looking for a few old items - George Deep's Buzz Alien and X-Men Senitel that used to be on the 3d-cc. Can anyone help me out?

I think I have George Deep's alien, Buzz.  Are we allowed to share these things?  😕  If sharing is permitted, I'll try to dig it up on my archive drive.  IIRC, the Sentinel was for M1 or something.   I know I never bothered to download it, and since I didn't have Michael and I downloaded most of the Dork characters, I assume that was my reason at the time.  Umm.

Maybe Sturk has a copy.  Does SturkWurk still post here?

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

Should be in the read me or TOS if you aren't allowed to share. I will see if I can get a hold of SturkWurk about the Sentinel.

I think it's supposed to work the other way around...?  If permission to share is not given explicitly, then one is supposed to assume that sharing is forbidden.   I don't think George would protest the sharing of Buzz, however.  I'll attach that old drive and hunt through it.  Bet I have a bunch of things I don't even know about.

Hey, cool.  I have Buzz and a Sentinel, too.  PM me with an e-mail address, and I'll send them off to you.

Legally... No, there has to be something in either the read me or TOS stating that you cannot share. Most read me's state for freebies state" that cannot be sold for profit or for use in commerical works" I asked a teacher of a local school about this because of a freebie that was hosted on my website that was not created by me but the site it was on was no longer there and I knew people wanted this freebie.

Interesting.  I always thought that which was not expressly permitted was forbidden.  I guess that's the way it's been discussed around here, for a long time.  At least in the topics I've bothered to read.

That is why most TOS and read me's are not worth the text that are in them for freebies and some products. This is how some can get away with taking a model found on another site and change a few things and resell it as theirs.

I don't want to get into a fight about this here due to the powers that be here have a tendacy to lock threads when it is something they disagree with.

if there's no readme, then redistribution isn't allowed. similarly, it must state explicitly in  readme that redistribution is allowed, otherwise it's a copyright violation.  analogous to going into a store - even tho there isn't sign on everything saying theft is forbidden, it's still illegal.

hence 3d-cc prevented wayback machine from crawling their site, perhaps because they no longer wanted their items redistributed.

however, I don't object if youse want to share.  as legume used to say: "do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law".
