Subject: why do i have to pay to change my display username?

forums don't usually charge for that?

The reason we charge a fee is for the adminstrative time it takes to change it. Pretty much we have over 700,000 active members and if there wasn't a fee the staff would be changing usernames all the time and would end up taking a lot of time and would be costly.

why does an admin have to do it?

it's usually a field in the profile people can change it themselves.

maybe with all the site changes they could add the field?

 

the old daz forum we were able to change it ourselves.

faeriewylde we can change it.

my yahoo profile i can change it.

I understand other sites do allow you to change your username but within our system admin must make the changes. As FrankT stated above DA is the same way.. you must pretty much pay for your name change.

Actually many professional forums do not have an ability to change your username without having an admin do it for you.  Hence paying an administrative fee.

It also curtails the overuse by those who might decide to constantly change their names at a whim and causing confusion.  Particularly in a business environment where names are reputations.

I found some websites where is possible buy some Renderosity´s models.

Aren´t free, by subscription

My question: is this legal?
