I reinstalled the previous (314.22) one and the instabilities were gone.

There are serious issues with the 320.18 drivers, a lot of people are reporting that the drivers are causing real damage to their cards, frying them. There was a lot of attention given to it early this month, a quick search will lead you to a lot of the articles about it. Defnitely stick with the 314.22 drivers for now.
Just received (17:00 Amsterdam time) 320.49 drivers.

no glitches till now, 320.49 seems fine to me.
