i am having a problem with victoria clothing pak. when i try to dress her (victoria) in the pants i keep getting a error message that says something as this: cannot open resource file runtime/geometries/zygoteclothing/milwom/blpants.obj. the blpants.obj is in the poser directory and i tried also placing it in victoria clothes, and again in zygoteclothing but it wont work. it does this for her catsuit too. the bikini and shoes and some other clothing items work fine. then it gives me a c exeption and crashes.

put the .obj files that don't work in the same folder as the ones that do work, all of vicky's clothing .objs are in the same folder. second thing to try is to delete all the .rsr files for these .objs (the ones in the geometries sections not the ones in the libraries section) sometimes the .obj's partner .rsr get corrupted, don't worry poser will rebuild these files when you use the item, but it will slow down for a second or two when this happens.

It has to be in the directory: runtime/geometries/zygoteclothing/milwom/ If it is there already, and there is also file named: "blpants.rsr", delete the .rsr file and let Poser build a new one. Also, have you installed the latest patch for your P4?

cinnamon whenever you get that error write down exactly what it says and that will tell you where the object has to go. I think it's happened to all of us at one time or another. 8^) Marque

you know, I found these kinds of problems, for me, started when companies changed. I have some things in Zygote, somethings in Daz, some things in metacreations, some things in Curious Labs...etc... I wish that an update would just simplify all that or...did I do something wrong when I upgraded to make this happen? Which is a good possibility!

i deleted the rsr file and that got rid of the cannot open resource runtime...geometries...message. but it still has the latter part of the error: caught c exception: exception access violation trapped at and i have noticed that all of the clothes under vickys clothes are in color...but the actual items that are not working ie. the pants and catsuit are greyscale:-( i cannot figure it out. i deleted all the folders and reinstalled vickies cloth pak 1 and same thing.

Yup, the C-exception part sounds like you need the P4 patch from Curious Labs site. 4.03 IIRC?

Hmmmm, that's a new one on me, get in touch with Daz, maybe your installation has been comprimised on download.

i made mistakes when i was trying to move the objects from milwom folder into vicky's cloths. once i took out the objs i copied from there into that folder it works now. i dont know if it makes any difference or not but i also took out a texture file that should have been someplace else. it was the studded jeans textures from another purchase i made at renderosity. because the description said that it was for vicky i assumed i should put it in her clothing files and i think it may have corrupted something. anyway, it is working now and i really appreciate everyone's help. i am so new and still trying to learn. i have obj files in the wrong place and things i have downloaded in wrong places. arrrgh anyway thanks again for all the help.

Just a little note of explination: generally a conforming clothing items has 2-4 parts .obj - goes in the geometries section, this must be in a specific place .cr2 - goes in the libraries/characters/???? section, this file can be in any folder after character. but this file will tell poser where the .obj is, if the .obj file is not where the .cr2 says it is you won't have a working item. This file can be opened as a text document and you can find the line that says where the .obj goes. .rsr - there are 2 kinds of these, one will be partnered with the .obj and is the one that can give you trouble from time to time and will need to be deleted. the other is partnered with the .cr2 and is what give the thumbnail in your library, it can also be deleted but you will lose your thumbnail. hr2 - a hair file, goes in libraries/hair/???? pp2 - a prop file, goes in libraries/props/???? etc. so if you ever get a downloaded item with no readme you'll know where it goes. (???? means any other folder)
