Wow!!!! Fabulous renders, all!!!

I have one done in Poser Pro 2012 and one in DS 4.6.  Can't figure out how to put them both in the same post, so here's the Poser one-click for bigger version

So was there a WIP thread up somewhere?  anyway...

this is what I've been playing at making for dawn..

I never thought to 'daisy duke' the cargo shorts as in the render quoted above :)

Ok  somehow I've lost where I have been saving all my renders... proper render upcoming!!

Ok here is an actual render.  In the process of re-texturing the set.  I'm sure to find some things to fix in the rigging/weightmapping as I go but I'm very pleased with how easy it was to rig for Dawn

Hello.. can we use Dawn free of charge for 3d printing ?? [And not only for rendered pictures]

0oseven ( ) posted Tue, 09 July 2013 at 1:47 AM

There are a lot of people who use daz's CARRARA who might be interested in Dawn so will she work with Carrara 8.5 ?

Is Daz giving you support to make her happen in their applications.

Definitely interested if shes good for Animation and can use existing bvh successfully !

Quote - > Quote - > Quote - Thanks, I did see Smay's shorts...I didn't want to assume that it had been autofitted. I'm looking for confirmation from someone who is using the figure in DS and can confirm that there is an autofit from Genesis.

"There is an autofit from Genesis"?  This character is completely seperate from Genesis.

For autofit to work, you need a "clone" so that autofit (which is for any DUF character, not just Genesis) can see what to "come from", and "go to".  We have the "go to" in Dawn.  The "Come from" need to be the Dawn mesh in V4 form.  That is what I dialed in, as close as I could.

Quote - If I am understanding this correctly it doesn't actually come with an autofit for V4 but you have created one for your own use? Can you clarify? thanks

Pen

I am not sure what will be included in the final product.  I needed to make a clone.  If someone makes a V4 Shapes for Dawn (similar to V4 Shape for Genesis), then that could be used as a clone, and autofit works.

(like how we needed a3/h3 shapes for genesis, to fit a3/h3 clothes to genesis)

Thanks, that was what I needed to know.

At this point no clones for V4 or Genesis have been provided. It could be that they are planning on releasing Shapes as an add-on. I wouldn't have a problem with that or with paying for the ability.

I'm more concerned about whether legally they will be able to do. It's rather a grey area...

Worse comes to worse I will make my own. Thanks for the link...: )

edited to add: I'm aware that this is a separate figure to Genesis just like V4 is. I would like the ability to use the Genesis clothing I have with Dawn just like my V4.

In fact as I have already converted some Gen 3 stuff having a genesis autofit clone would allow me to use Gen3 also with Dawn.

I'd like to learn how to make clones to the autofit to work better-can someone make a tut with screenshots to help newbies learn this? I read the post here & it seemed kinda easy but I'm not sure if I have it right.Screenshots would make it more clear I think.

I had a major delay. Poser has been acting weird for several months. So I thought I'd just re-run serial update 3. It wouldn't run. Told me that I had an invalid install of PoserPro 2012. Ah, ha, so something had gotten corrupted! So I had to reinstall Poser Pro 2012 and then Serial Update 3 installed. Then I got a message there was Serial Update 3.1, so I went and got that and installed it. Then back to fiddling with lights and finally the render. So, here she is.

I don't think her hands are too small.

As for the feet, might be a tad flat on the bottom, but otherwise shaped nicely. Trust me - someone is bound to come along and reshape the feet and hands anyway. LOL.

I wasn't commenting on Latexluv's render, just all of them in general.  I've noticed the red legs and wondered.  It showed a lot in one pose where her knees were bent and up near her upper torso, the difference in the skin texture was very obvious there.

How to find out about the proportions of her hand. Could somebody who has her pose her so that the heel of her hand is at her chin, fingers pointing upward. They should just touch the hairline, or a little bit lower on her forehead.

I think it is a merchant ressource that is used quite often - Mostdigitalcreations V4 characters are showing the red leg syndrome too.

Normally the length of a hand is about the same as the length of the face. Dawn's looks quite short of that. So I think the shortness of her hands is one of the things that's been bothering me in the renders, but also the wrists that are an odd shape.

LOL seriously? I don't think that's for everyone, after all some people have short fingers and some people have long fingers. My fingers reach my eyebrows.  Small hands. My music teacher told me to never try to play piano. HEH.

Of course it's not for everyone! Some people have short hands and large heads and some people have long hands and small heads. But that is the normal artistic proportion.

Yeah. I think it's the lack of wrist bones and thickness of the wrist that makes it look odd. She has very chunky-looking wrists, but that's maybe because the bones aren't sculpted.

I think the hand length is fine, mine is about the same proportions and the fingers land in about the same area on the forehead...it's just the wrist that looks wrong.

I'm a little late to the party, was under the weather yesterday. Don't know if anyone has posted a Luxus/Lux render of Dawn yet, But since I did one, I thought I'd share this one. Everything is from the base set. No morphs on Dawn, the pose is included.

I modified the specular on the bikini top and bottom, but everything else is straight from DS (I'm not a big Luxus user, so I'm a bit meterials challenged). Thought the Luxus users following the thread might like to know how well she works. Oh, I used 4 mesh lights - a basic 3 light set up with an extra that I forgot to delete - but used it as a low intensity fill light.

I think the size of her hands is absolutely inside of the normal range. The pose in Richard's render is a bit lower than really heel of hand to chin - if he moves the hand up a bit, the fingers are touching the forehead just so below the hairline.

By the way: I think I forgot to say thank you for playing along, Richard - Thank you!

toastie ( ) posted Tue, 09 July 2013 at 8:23 AM

I still think they're too small for her. They look like little doll hands. With chunky wrists.

But maybe they'll look better in different poses instead of the defaults.
