Subject: Smoking tires effect any suggestions?

putrdude ( ) posted Thu, 15 August 2013 at 6:31 PM · edited Sat, 08 February 2025 at 9:57 PM

I'm looking for a smoking tires effect for an animation.  Smoke must start from tires and billow backward.  Anybody have any ideas?

Thank you.

Maya, Lightwave etc. some sort of partical physics engine.Or...hand draw an animation and use it on a one-sided trans-mapped square.

A little pricey, I got before DAZ raised their prices, but does what you want and more but has a learning curve

People that know everything by definition can not learn anything

Nerd has another item at DAZ which may also work for you.

Failing that, you may be able to do something with bagginsbill's freebie smoke plume available at RuntimeDNA in the linked thread.

That's what I used in this little anim to show you. Ignore the lack of driver! :)

Picked up the Smokin' flames tool.  Very nice flames.

Not sure I'm using it correctly though.  Got the smoke to work, but even the White Chunky Smoke appears to be light gray smoke at best.

Any ideas how to make billow white?

Thanks.
