Subject: the Dawn of a new day...

And there is the problem, I can do dynamics so easily, but, no good for Studio.

I'm trying to keep everyone able to use something I make, but sometimes it's down to me going that extra bit and figuring it out.

Just been playing with UVLayout and it takes a lot of hard work out of doing UV's especially the optimize option.

All the best.

A bodysuit is so easy in PP14.

I use the dev set by Lyrra (I'm always on the look out for dev sets!!! lol).

None of that messing about I had to do with grouping.

Do a base version just to test, load as obj, into Setup Roo, Dawn Dev Rig, no to Transfer morphs, yes to Autogroup.

Done!!! Lol.

Back to Pose room, load up Dawn, Select the item I made, Copy Jint Zones from Dawn, conform.

That's it!!!!

The only thing I need to really is a UV, as when you model anything, it messes up the UV and take out the bits I don't need in Poser File Editor 3.

No need for the head, lower jaw etc.

My workflow has speeded up quite a bit with PP2014.

All the best.

Poser 2014 is my favorite rig/setup/render program.  Smith Micro made rigging so easy, with P2014.  :-)

I forgot to mention, earlier, if you make the thigh bones ghost, you can manually group the "ungrouped" mesh (to the hip or pelvis), and you'll be good to go.  That, with Zbrush skirt morphs, almost eliminates the need for skirt bones.  I still like skirt bones, but they're a pain to draw.

You're doing some fine work, LROG.  Glad you can use DS.  I've seen lots of folks calling for more DS support for Dawn.

I love me some Modo!  :-)

Can DS use python and addons (or something similar)? Maybe some industrious programmer can make some propgram that allows a similar dynamics to what poser has. By similar I mean you don't need an expensive program to make or use dynamic clothing. You can import an obj, run it though and have it work as clothing and the dynamic clothes can be interchangeable with poser. I don't mean it needs to be so similar to poser's stuff that copywrite are in question. I think it would go along way to bridging the gap and incrasing both markets.

Won't the CCTs do what you want, RedPhantom?  I remember using those, when I was using DS4Pro.  :-)

Oh, I'm sorry -- CCTs are for conforming, not dynamic.  Excuse me.

I love me some Modo!  :-)

By the way: I added a tutorial at Sharecg how to convert DS data morphs to Poser PMD injections with DazStudio and a text editor:

To All Owners of Obj2Cr2 -- and Wardrobe Wizard.

PhilC updated both Obj2Cr2 and WW.  :-)  If you used Obj2Cr2, and found a little wonkiness with the abs, it's been fixed.  And he's re-vamped the WW files for Dawn, too.

High five to Phil for providing excellent support!

I love me some Modo!  :-)

I can't get my points to work to check out! I will not shop at Hivewire until they work... did someone say their system does not like a Visa card for points or something? No one of authority has replied to my post in the Contact forum...I am sooo frustrated! I enter the max amount of points I am allowed on my order, I see it, but when I get to the "place order" page, there are NO points/funds subtracted! I hate to have to submit a ticket for this.... and I do NOT want to use Chrome to try it... I get more malware with Chrome than my IE8.

Any suggestions from someone who really knows what the problem is would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry to be so upset... but my life is full of enough hassles, and I'd rather just let it go and forget about shopping here if it is not FUN AND EASY.

I'm not an autority but I do know they are pretty busy and sometime things get buried. I'd go ahead and submit a ticket. Also I was able to use firefoxand used points with that. Just a suggestion of an alternitive to chrome.

I made a purchase with IE and Visa, and it went through fine, points and all.

(I usually use Firefox, but the first time I tried, the transaction didn't go through, so I tried again with IE, and it worked.  I have since used Firefox at Hivewire and it's worked fine.)

First, if this forum is supposed to be for Dawn, there should be a link on the first page for the product so that you don't have to scour the forum to find more information.

Second, I thought Dawn was supposed to be free. On Hivewire 3D, the only place I see the figure listed in the shop is as a part of Dawn's Starter Pack, which lists the figure as costing $24.95. I don't see anywhere on their site where there is a freebie section and no listings for just the Dawn figure appear in the store.

Am I missing something?

Delete all the unwanted items in the card and you'll get her for free.

egaeus ( ) posted Sat, 24 August 2013 at 9:57 AM

Nope. I uncheck everything except Dawn and it tells me I have to pay 24.95. I put in the maximum number of points I've earned, and that takes it down to $17.

I guess the figure is free for everyone except me.

randym77 ( ) posted Sat, 24 August 2013 at 10:21 AM

It's probably a bug.  She's supposed to be free for at least the first month.

I just tried it while not logged in, and I, too ended up with a $24.95 charge even with all the extras unchecked.  It was free before.

Appears to be a recent problem.  Someone posted a question about it at the Hivewire forums today, so hopefully they'll get it sorted soon.

egaeus ( ) posted Sat, 24 August 2013 at 10:32 AM

Thanks. I'll check the site later.

What about the male version: Darren, or whatever he will be called? When might he be released? And what features might he possess?

Lyne ( ) posted Mon, 14 October 2013 at 12:32 PM

I'm STILL waiting for the VERY HOPED FOR fixing of Hivewire's website code so I can use IE to shop...and USE MY POINTS... I have been in communication with them, and with my friend who is in even more direct communication with them, and they say 'it's close'... so we both wait.

I DID look very seriously into Firefox, but was really put off by all the user's complaints about it's newest version AND all the ADD-ONs you apparently have to install to make it fully functional. I am NOT a software "techy" type person, there is no way I am going to (especially with dyslexia!) try and deal with that browser.  I do use Chrome here, JUST for the galleries and the forums so I can read the posts without the words running under side menus, etc. BUT I never use Chrome to purchase anything. I also keep my anti-virus very up to date, as after I installed Chrome I got trojans and malware as never before. Chrome is very crude, but I put up with it..

ANYWAY I so so so want to shop at Hivewire, so I wait for it to be compatible... sigh.

Life Requires Assembly and we all know how THAT goes!
