Hi, sorry I'm posting up here as well but I didn't have a site to drop my image off at to then link up to in your post...sooo here it is...I'll just copy and paste to your original post as well... I think you were on the right track but because there are so many different ways to actually do this you probably were changing the color in one way while leaving it the same when viewing it another... So I took a few moments to sorta walk ya through a simplistic quickie tutorial (since this is in the manual you can always check into it) 1)Once you have your figure selected you can go here and pick the appropriate body part and make sure that it's selected then 2)you come here to check the colors and pick them. 3)however if you've created your own eye textures you could just select that texture load it up and check here so that your texture changes are applied to ALL parts of the body thus applying your texture to all the appropriate body parts without having to go into the drop down menu (under one) and selecting each individually and applying the texture. I personally usually make the eyes white or no color at all when I apply my textures because I have my own 'eyeballs' already done up....some people do this...others just change the colors from the swatchs. Another REALLY easy way to do this is to just use the paint bucket and click on the area you wish to change (sometimes getting in closer helps to select a particular area if it's tiny) Hope that helped somewhat.... PAN~ gittin' back to basics...

Hey, Pan Say for instance that I have really cool eyes from one texture but like the skin tones on another and don't feel like making a new texture with the two cause it's just one render. Which components do I have to set to the cool eye texture.. When I've tried this, I end up with residual colouring from the skin tone texture, and the iris doesn't look right. I usually just end up making a new texture, but my hard drive is starting to cry. (whoo hoo.. time for an upgrade!!!) Any ideas? Thanks in advance TyggerBob

Well, I hear you totally cause I've had the same issues...at times. Ok this should work in theory I haven't tried it any time recently so you'll have to give it a shot. Say you have the cool eyes named COOeyes.tiff right? And the nice body texture named HEHEHE.tiff right? Ok you would go to where it says (you can look up there to the image to see) Texture map [load] and then load up both texture maps (the tiff files or jpegs or whateva you saved them as really but remember for this tutorial they are tiffs as above). Then you can (which is what I would do) pick the HEHEHE.tiff as your body texture map because it will be used for all the body parts except the 'eyes'. Then go under the Material drop down and select the various eyeball parts one at a time and applying the Texture map COOeyes.tiff to them. You will have to do this manually for each eye part. As you select each eye part under the materials drop down you will then notice that the Texture map area will be your HEHEHE.tiff or the default texture and then it's just a matter of selecting the right texture for that part. Basically here's a simple jist to how to do it. Apply the body texture map to the body parts you want by checking them in the materials drop down and making sure it's the texture map selected when you do so that you want on them...and for the eyes just make sure you've applied the appropriate texture map to those parts as well... Sounds confusing but I hoped I helped...lemmie know... PAN~

Make sure that "Texture changes apply to entire figure" is NOT checked in this case. You are using TWO separate textures so you don't want one or the other being applied to the ENTIRE body. You want them applied to targeted spots. So as long as this is NOT checked you should be able to apply the textures independent of one another.. PAN~

Pan mentioned it before, but do make sure you are setting ALL the surfaces to White otherwise the surface color will mix with the map color, and may be why your irises were getting muddied-up. Also, if you want to go crazy with the mix-&-match mapping, you can use UVMapper (link at right ->)to easily create new material zones on any part, or any sub-part of a part, that you might want. Like, if you wanted to texture the skin from one map but try different maps on just the face. ....Hey, (slaps forehead) that's not a bad idea!
