Subject: Free Bag Chair Download

LuxXeon ( ) posted Tue, 24 September 2013 at 8:57 AM · edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 7:04 AM

Attached Link: Free Bag Chair Download

The zip download contains the object, and all textures you see here.

This detailed 3D Bag Chair is available in several scaled .obj formats, for importing easily into other applications, like Blender, Poser, or Daz|Studio.  This versatile model comes complete with SIX fun and wild high-res COLOR texture maps to choose from. The model's UV coordinates are also perfectly suitable for use with any tileable image, or procedural textures. There is also a high detail BUMP and SPECULAR map included to use in those map channels respectively. All provided texture maps are in .jpg format, and at 2048 X 2048 pixel size; perfect for extremely close-up rendering. The topology of the model is 100% quads (quadrilateral faces), with a detailed, but optimized poly count of just 8,528 total polygons, and 8,530 verts. There are absolutely NO triangles or Ngons in this model, and no overlapping UV's. The original UV Template of the object is also included in the "maps" folder as an uncompressed .PNG file, to make your own patterns or textures from scratch, if you wanted.

You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit for your own projects or scenes; it's great as a decoration in a room, or as a comfy character prop. The model can be used for both commercial and non commercial renders. You may not, however, resell these objects, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.

Click Here to download the .OBJ version from Freestuff.  The native .max file format is pending approval, and should also be available in the coming day or so.

Optionally, you could also download this object, in both formats, from the following locations, as well as preview the wireframe renders:

Turbosquid.com
ShareCG.com

Remember to refer to the included README.txt for more info on how to integrate this model into your current projects.  As always, enjoy the model, and please contact me if you have any questions about how to use it in your renders.

Thank you very much, everyone.  I appreciate the feedback, and I truly hope people find the item useful.  I'm thinking about releasing an "add-on" freebie for this model, which would basically consist of an additional 10 high-res, wild color textures you could use along with the current textures, including a "Halloween" texture, and other fun stuff.  I'll have to see if it's worth it, because I've got other freebies lined up, and starting classes on the 30th, so my time will be far more limited.

BTW, the .max version of this model is now available in Freestuff as well.  It's the native file format for 3dsmax 2012 or higher, providing easy access to the subobject level, and separate material groups for the trim and cushions.

Hey LuxXeon...you aren't going to classes at HACC are you? I'm in PA too (York County). Just curious. LOL. If they gave decent 3D classes at HACC I might have to look into it ;).

Hi, Laurie.  No, I'm much farther North of that area unfortunately.  You should still look into it though, as they may have a 3D or digital arts course in their cirriculum worth trying. Might be a little late to sign up for this year, but that's how I eventually became introduced to 3dsMax, and some other useful software; though a local College course.

I will look into it :). Sometimes HACC has some nice summer classes and maybe a 3D course :).

Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread. LOL

Hey, great stuff there.  Looks really good with that material.  I was thinking about how it might look with a velvet shader when I was modeling it, because of how the folds and wrinkles turned out.

That looks interesting.  Great work!  Tell me, is that an atmospheric effect you have in that one?  Looks like some form of fog or atmosphere is going on there too.

If you want to define a separate texture/color to the seams with procedural materials, you could define that through the UV template provided with the texture maps, by creating a "mask" where the seam UV coordinates are located in the template (upper right hand corner).  That's only if you wanted to use a different material for that area.

I'm going to release some texture addons for this model too.  Some fun textures for Halloween, etc.  I think I will make them available from my DA profile page, but I'll provide a link here as well, when they're ready.

No atmospheric effect, it's all due to the shaders (ground, couch and clothing).

I leave new textures and/or  shaders up to you though I might release a few poses (Miki 2 shown above) as a freebie.

Let me know if you ever make/release free character poses for this chair.  I would feel truly honored if someone actually took the time to do that.  I don't actually own Poser, so it's fascinating to me, and quite fun, to see what people do with my models in the software.  I've been very impressed with some of the creative uses people have come up with for some of the models.

Attached Link: Halloween Texture Addon (For Luxxeon's Bag Chair)

file_498746.jpg

Hi all.  Just added a new update for this model, a free texture pack addon, for Halloween.  There's 4 new, exclusive diffuse/color textures in this pack, which can be used with my free [**Bag Chair**](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=72399), as a replacement to the original color textures.

This is a free set of 4 unique color/diffuse textures for Halloween, specifically designed for the FREE Bag Chair model. You can use them in place of the original color textures that were provided with the model, for a fun addition to the free Bag Chair model.  Perfect for a whimsical addition to any seasonal arch/viz render, or as a fun "spooky" prop for your character renders.  You are free to use these textures in any render of the Bag Chair, commercial or non-commercial, with no restrictions.  Please refer to the README contained with the Bag Chair model for any possible restrictions or specifications regarding the use of that resource independently.

This FREE texture addon pack is available for download now, exclusively at my DA profile page.

Have FUN!  If you find a use for this expansion texture resource, please let me know, I'd love to see what you do with it.

Just wanted to announce that the **Halloween Texture Pack** for the Bag Chair is now available for download in the Freestuff here on Rendo.  I realize some folks may not wish to download from DA for whatever reason.  Not sure if you need an account there in order to download, so I made them available [ **here**](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=72543) too.  Enjoy!

here's comfy chair with low settings.  hair needs spec/scatter; hex tiles need spec, refl, maybe scatter and they shrank floor in this prop 60% in x-direction without telling me first.

comfy chair, bad hair, bad hex tiles

merci beaucoup, zan.  I love luxxeon's furniture - it's got great modelling, mapping and textures work well in poser.  especially wanted to replace couch that girl was on, as poser couch had no mapping.  I had for it only some wretched procedurals IMVHO.

Je suis d'accord. Je pense qu'ils sont certains des meilleurs pour libre ou de payer.  I use the Blender variety to render very well.
