Subject: Fond Farewell

bobbystahr ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2013 at 10:06 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 8:18 AM

Good day to all the readers of this Forum
Well there comes a time when EVERYTHING changes and for me this is one of those times. On October 23rd, amazingly (never thought I'd make it this far) I turn 65, and as this was my last paid position I figured I should actually retire when I start receiving a pension or 2.
This being the case Halloween (Oct 31, 2013) I will be stepping down as your Moderator. It has been an interesting time , and for the most part genial. The few who caused me grief seem to have left of their own accord and by and large we were happy to see them go as they were mainly folks redistributing objects thay didn't create them selves. All of you contributors are a wonderful, generous bunch and I wish you great successes with your building models and creating stuff to aid others. A few who used to contribute have gone on to careers in the MarketPlace and I feel this is an excellent proving ground because as you improve you get feed back which encourages some to apply to the Markeplace here to sell and those approved for that activity get a sort of diploma by the acceptance by the MP.
I will, in some aspects, miss this small job and the interactions I've had, both good and uneasy as we always got it worked out, but it's time to put all my energy back into my real life which is as a singer/songwriter as 3D was mainly at the start, therapy for when music wasn't clicking. As a fare the well gift I will be uploading to this Forum, a download link for my first cd (40 years in the making) as I was a late starter, heh heh heh, and not much interested in the music business as those 2 words seem self cancelling...business kills music, but as I'm obviously gonna kick off some time in the next 2 decades I figured I should at least record all I've written since 1966 so there will be some record I was here and busy.

That being said I have a project of 10 cd's which I've been only selling at House Concerts and coffee houses to folks who come to hear me 'live'. As such the collection is called "The Songs You Just Heard Volumes 1-10". Y'all will be getting Vol. 1.

Regarding the Forum and the Freestuff Area, I will be leaving you in the capable hands of your new Moderator UVDanLobo3433 and brynna as Coordinators and of course KimberlyC as your Admin contact.
Be as kind to them as you've been to me and this Freestuff thing will continue to thrive. I've not seen such a massive collection of totally free items in so many formats anywhere else on the net and we are truly blessed that Renderosity made this Area for us.

So in closing I wish you all major successes and great joy in creating and thank all the contributors for your generosity and fine products.

Thank you for all the hard work, I know if it was not for the free stuff the charity I work with would have had to find a lot of extra cash, that money is now being used in the schools and hospitals.

Adios Bobby! We love you and we'll miss you; drop by if you ever get bored.

Ah ha bigJohn...La La Land North...too pricey for me to live there,  though I suspect on my pension I'll finally be able to take a holiday out West to see some old pals I ain't seen in a few decades. Thanks to the net we can still talk but it'd be nice to do some old time jamming.
