This is indeed fantastic news! Looking forward to seeing what the IBL changes and ambiant value support looks like. :)
Yeah, but did they ever get the GPU renderer to work? Reality 3 says its GPU capable but you have to write code and add that to Lux to get Lux to use the GPU though Reality. There was a code sample here in a thread a while back. I'm not a programmer. I gave up trying to figure it out.
So for me, Reality 3 is only a CPU renderer. I have 24 cores in this beastie of CPU but that's not the point. I wanted reality to take advantage of the GTX 780.
If anyone knows how to get Reality to render with GPU without having to write code for Lux, I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance,
Eric
is there a home site for Lux?
I used to think Lux and Reality were the same thing, but they 2 separate softwares.

@EricofSD: I just check the turbo box. Then the SVG renderer is activated, which comes with Luxrender 1.3. And SVG is GPU. Didn't test thouroughly yet.
(before Lux 1.3 the turbo checkbox was there in Reality already, but didn't work since the SVG was not installed unless you were running a test/beta of Lux 1.3)

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.
visit www.aRtBeeWeb.nl (works) or Missing Manuals (tutorials & reviews) - both need an update though
I just downed the 3.1 version a little while ago, and it looks to be the same version I already had.
The reality.exe was dated jan 10, 2014 in both my 3.0 and in the 3.1 version.
Plus there was still a pdf in the 3.1 folder about upgrading to 3.1.
And the md5's are the same on both the 3.0 and the 3.1 zip files.
I'm thinkin my account didnt get the upgrade yet.
Has anyone else had this experience?
