Excellent so far.  The only thing that bothers me is the lack of facial expressions from panel to panel.  There should be emotions to set the mood for the storyline otherwise the deadpan look won't carry the panel scene.

for a discussion that seems about right to me.

generally star trek just uses close ups to set the mood, data, riker, beverly and deanna pretty much are the expressive ones.

most people don't show much of an emmotional change dureing a serious discussion, now if someone did something funny maybe they would.

i guess i have to watch that, and find ways to put those in.

Tucan-Tiki ( ) posted Sat, 01 March 2014 at 10:01 PM

plus i ended up with 2 and 3 versions of each character each time I went back to make each one better.

Tucan-Tiki ( ) posted Sat, 01 March 2014 at 10:05 PM

the comic is just a test to work out size relationships with fonts and script, word balloons and stuff, and testing lighting, props and sets plus textures, so far so good, but I still need to work on the camera angles and stuff.

the major effect was placeing the officer's lounge inside the model of the ship, I thought that was awesome how it turned out.

Are you modeling all this stuff yourself, or just tweaking stuff you bought? I am still amazed at how closely they resemble the real deal.

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

I have to agree with Hborre, there's both a lack of expressiveness and they never look at each other. they always seem to be looking up and away at something even when talking to each other and they're never facing each other. I've yet to clearly see the back of anyone's head.

Finally, watch your spelling. If you're not sure a word is spelled correctly look it up.

Otherwise, very enjoyable and an intriguing storyline.

rowlando ( ) posted Sun, 02 March 2014 at 5:36 PM

In the story line the majority of the time they are looking at a screen or something else, the interaction between themselvs is not reflected in the images as Eclark 1894 suggests.

It might be easier if you create some side on three quarter views so you can see from the back of a head view, not a total back view but partial back showing ear and the side of the face. and the other person front on view on looking into the face.

This gives the reader the image of relationship. The could also show expression frown or smile partial smile etc to bring more impact along with the dialog.

cheers and well done on your ideas and creations.

I am sure everyone would love to find out exactly how you do the face creations a tutorial would be very nice if possible.

Have fun Rowlando
