Subject: HR2 to CR2/DUF?

manleystanley ( ) posted Wed, 09 April 2014 at 1:22 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 9:52 AM

I have a rather large selection of mil3/4 HR2 hair I really don't want to give up. Many I have made my own textures for. So is there anyway to convert mil3/4 hr2 to cr2 hair so that it can be used on genesis, G2F/M; .DUF?

I think RAM did it on the Daz forum, google: "RAMWorks Tutorials: PP2 and HR2 to figure", since I am not sure if I can post a link.

Just select the item in question then got to File>Export and in the Save as Type dropdown select Poser CR2 File

Autofit only works if it is a Figure hair, for HR2 (prop based hair) use Transfer Utility, presuming you have the correct clone, on unparented Prop hair.   Save as a wearable preset, type hair.

It is now a DUF suitable for your Triax Figure.

Thanks 3doutlaw, that tutorial you linked to works just fine so far.

I love to recycle

Note: If I can do it, any one can

Hmmm, this may work well for Studio, but I only have 1 in 4 opening in carrara. I have similar issues with G2F clothes and a few other odd items. I don't see a ryme or reason to it, so it's something deeper in the files.

I'll play around with it because some of the hair is worth it. I've always liked the Aiko 3 XL long hair, it didn't load but it's worth running through a couple more time to see if I'm not screwing somthing up

hr2 hair are just 'wig' props, parent to the head and adjust scale and translation to fit.

I know what an hr2 is. But this is a once and done operation. Origenally that is how you fit hair in carrara.

It does have it's draw backs. I'm sure there is a fix; other then remodeling, to hair that is out side the parameters; extra long pig tails get stretched.
