Subject: Roxie face room issue.

I wanted to try creating some face morphs myself because there seems to be a major lack of anything for Roxie but I've run into an issue. The face in the face room doesn't match up with Roxies actual face. I matched up the faces in photoshop and I wasn't surprised that the features were different because something just seems off and any face moprhs I created were giving me strange issues. I tried matching up Miki4's face in photoshop and her face matched 100%, I'm not sure why Roxie isn't working in the face room.

On another note, maybe I'm going blind... but Alyson had so many amazing body morphs and I can't find them on Roxie. I can't even find the hip size morph. :(

First question is :
Did you update the content files with the latest version?
With you serial number you can get a content update at SM's site.

The initial Roxie had faceroom errors.
These have been solved in the content updater.

I updated to the latest SR 3.1 but I wasn't aware of a seperate content update. I should probably go find that. :p

You're not going blind. For some weird reason, Roxie doesn't have nearly as many morphs as Alyson had.

Make sure you change the name of your current Roxie folder to something like Roxie1.0 so the content updater doesn't overwrite it.

That sucks about the morphs, E. Alyson1/2 had such an amazing list of things you could change, I don't get why they'd make Roxie so great but leave out all those options out this time. Roxie would have been that much better if they were included.

Ok, I have the update downloaded but before I install it what would happen if it was overwritten? Would all of my old scenes with Roxie not work because of the update? That would be a GIANT pain in the rear.

The easy check to see if you have the latest Roxie 1.1 version is.
Load Roxie
Goto Front camera
Zoom in on the face and go in wire frame mode.
If the right eye has a SubD set at 1 and the left eye has SubD set at 0?
Then you have an older version.

With Roxie 1.1 latest version BOTH eyes are set at SubD level 0.

They will continue to work.

Now Roxie comes as Roxie 1.1

Old Roxie is just Roxie.

Build newer scenes with Roxie 1.1 and the older scenes will call for Roxie.

Attention: They have different face geometry and are NOT interchangable.

Newer Roxie has transmapped lashes while old Roxie had geometry lashes that where not faceroom compatible.

Yeah I still had the old version but I just installed the CU and now my new scenes have the updated Roxie. Thanks for the info Tony!

BTW I have a scene with Roxie that I spent a few days perfecting a bunch of dynamic clothes sims on and I would like to somehow transfer the clothing and the sims to the new Roxie so I can use the faceroom in the scene. I'm sure there's a way to do it with the animation palette but I have no idea how to copy and move an entire animation from Roxie 1 to Roxie 1.1.

If, on your final frame, you select the clothing props and spawn a morp target and resave the prop with a new name, the sim will be in the morph. Then select Roxie and save a pose for her pose (I think you may need to save the translations, if any, as well -- I'd save both versions of the pose just in case.)

Then you should be able to load up Roxie in a new scene, apply the pose, and load the clothing. Once you dial the new morph you made in that clothing, it should work with the pose.

I've had a little trouble with parenting clothing after the fact. If your clothing isn't parented before you do the sim, when you load it into your new scene, you may have to use translation tools to get it in the right place. A pain, depending on how far your figure moved or rotated. But less perhaps than redoing the sim.

I think this should work.

This thread also reminded me to install the content update. I played with Roxie in the face room a bit, it adds loads of versatility to her. She now works really well in the face room. I suppose I should give Rex a go as well in the face room.
