Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
I believe, if you use the dials in the figure body, you can lower the subdivision to -1. There does seem to be a difference between -1 and 0. It's possible I'm imagining that difference, but worth a try, just to see if it helps you, too.
PoserPro 2014, PS CS5.5 Ext, Nikon D300. Win 8, i7-4770 @ 3.4 GHz, AMD Radeon 8570, 12 GB RAM.
When setting the sub-d to zero using DSON script, the value on the parameter dial does become -1.
And, actually, you would be better off setting the skinning method to Poser Unimesh and increasing the sub-d to 1 or higher for render only. Save the character back to the Library as a CR2 to decrease the loading time into a scene.

This depends on what morphs you are using. Poser's subdivision is missing the edge weighted creasing from the Pixar spec, so more detailed morphs lose a lot of their details when you switch over. HD morphs do not work with Poser's subdivision due to this.

Decided to give Genesis another go, however I seem to have hit a bit of a block. Normally when spinning morph dials poser hangs. It's not recoverable either.
Didn't know if anybody had any obvious solutions or tips to improve things. PP2014, 16gb of RAM and six core processer. Using latest DSON as far as I know (redownloaded from Daz). It may just be that's how Genesis is in Poser, but it'd be nice to hear some hints and tips from those using it more than I.
best wishes
