Subject: Texture cross talk in Poser 9 SR-3

rokket ( ) posted Thu, 29 May 2014 at 8:01 PM · edited Sat, 28 December 2024 at 7:31 PM

I created two outfits, one for Tyler (the Batman suit), and a cyborg/robocop for Dawn.

I loaded Dawn into Poser. I then loaded the cyborg outfit and conformed it to her. It's 3 separate pieces: an underarmor, an exoskeleton and the boots.

I then loaded Tyler and the Batman outfit. When I attempted to load the boots I got the texture cross talk. Tyler's boots took on Dawn's textures and texture maps, and when I conformed them to Tyler, they exploded.

I don't have a screen cap; I'm not not my laptop at the moment. Is the fact that the conformers are both labelled boots causing this? It's never happened to me before.

I got the same result with Miki 4 and Dawn in the same scene.

Has this problem happened to anyone else? Or do I need to start a ticket with SM?

If the names are identical, Poser will pick up on the first instance it encounters.  This is common in all versions.  Go back and rename one of the files.

Ok, thought I broke something. Thanks. I'll rename the boots for Dawn as Cyborg Boots or something.

This also happens sometimes when a texture can't be found, regardless of similar names.

Recently I had a scene where the front of a big temple-like building "adopted" the face texture of a human character.  Extremely strange to see a temple with eyebrows and lips!

Congrats Ockham, sounds like you created the ultimate Vicki in a temple render :thumbupboth:

I was going to say that exact same thing!

You beat me to it!

Aaaack!  I didn't even think of that!  I was using the temple as a bank building, so the connection didn't occur to me.

Using the temple as a bank building. Makes sense; we do tend to worship money!
