Under Properties, check Display Origin

Then open the joint editor (Window > Joint Editor) and adjust the x, y and/or z positions on the Center Point (green cross) and End Point if necessary (red cross). The object will rotate around whatever you have the center point set to.

You can open the item (.cr2 / .pp2) with an editor and change the internal name there

AmbientShade ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2014 at 4:09 PM

or export the item or group and name it whatever you need, then reimport and the internal name will be whatever you saved it as.

And if you absolutely don't want the model to leave Poser to rename it, then use the grouping tool, create a new group named whatever you want, add all the polys you need to that group, click Spawn prop, and the new prop will be named whatever you named the new group.

actually I'm so bloody clueless at this point I have no absolutely anythings.
I'm just trying to learn how to get a candle in Poser.
I know if I stick with it I'll learn it all .

so far I learned about groups, materails,a interal name, and move axis

never seen internail names in other apps.

never seen 11 Proprietary File Formats eather.
CM2, CR2, FC2, HD2, HR2, LT2,MC6, MT5, PP2, PZ2, PZ3.

I'm guessing the candle alt to be a .pp2 but Pro 14 will only let me save as a .pz3

still a lot to learn and to get use to.

hope you all don't get tiered of helping me before I get there. :)

Sure, ask whatever you need. That's what this forum is for. Someone will have the answer for most issues.

If the candle isn't a figure, but is broken into multiple props, then you can save it to the props library as a smart prop. Parent the parts together in a logical way, then save it to the Props library by the + button at the bottom of the window. It will ask for a set name. Name it something (candle) press the select subset button and make sure there's an X in the box next to each of the candle parts that you want to include. Have to scroll to the bottom of the list most likely, passed all the lights and cameras to find the props.

"I'm guessing the candle alt to be a .pp2 but Pro 14 will only let me save as a .pz3"

Rather than using File > Save try opening the Poser library pallet, navigate to a suitable prop library folder and click the "+" add to library button.

Also Window > Quick Start > Library may help.
