Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
Could you please post the following screen shots.
Load P6 James and the flight suite. Do not conform but fully zero both figures.
The Wardrobe Wizard conversion window showing your selections, options etc.
P5 Don and the converted flight suit. Do not conform but fully zero both figures.
As (3) but conformed.
When zeroing a figure ensure that absolutly everything is zeroed, translations, rotations, scaling (100%), morphs. Later versions of Poser have the menu option Figure > Zero Figure. Or use the Wardrobe Wizard "Zero Figure" button.
Thanks.
"Here us the suit lined up on James."
Is the suite lined up on James or is the unconformed suite at the fully zero pose?
There are two versions of the James figure, "James" and "JamesG2". They are very similar except that the arm positions are different in the zero pose. I suspect that the suit was made for other version of James to the one that you show in your screen shots.
Yes but which figure is it, Poser 6 James or JamesG2? In the Wardrobe Wizard GUI you have selected the "from" figure to be P6 James which would be correct if it is the Poser 6 version of James in the scene. If not then you will see the effects you are observing.
If you find that you should have selected the G2 version of James in the Wardrobe Wizard GUI be sure to select the "Force reanalyses" option when you reconvert. If you do not then it will simply reuse the old incorrect data and you'll get the same result as before.
Okay after getting my window back in confirmed that I had a new analysis file for PW James flight suit.
I chose the JamesG2 Basic FROM character and I am getting the same result.
Is there any way to perform a reanalysis of the JAMES that comes with Poser Pro 2012? The flight suit fits that character perfectly. I dont have any other version of James and am wondering if the data files provided in PP2012 are for a different version??
I know that in the old WW you would load the character you wanted to convert from and a new file would be created from that character.
Any way to get this version to recreate a new file from the James that I have?

OBZ is the Poser compressed form of the OBJ file format.
You show the Poser 6 James folder however JamesG2 is not listed. I wanted to be absolutly certain which version you were using but sadly at this point I still can not be. I do know that if the wrong one is used you will get the error that you are observing.
Is the suite a legitamate freebie that I could legally download and convert for myself? At this point I think that is the only way I can show you, step by step how to proceed.
For me to be able to answer your question I need to know with absolute certaintly:-
So far I do not have that information.
I do not think that your end user licence will allow you to send me the costume files. You have already sent me the costume CR2 file however that does not tell me which figure it was made for.
I have tried to answer your question and have indicated that if the wrong figure is chosen then you will get the errors you are seeing. I'm not sure what you have done regarding reanalyses. I feel that my only option left is to perform the conversion here and then show you what I did via screen shots. This would involve me in purchasing a subscription to Poser World which is something that I prefer not to do.
How would you like me to proceed?
Philc thanks for all of your help. I have no idea which figure the flight suit was made for. But even if I did not know - seems like I could through trail and error select each of the JAMES "Froms" in WW. So far they all produce the same result - misalignment at the arms. :/
So, what is strange is how well it aligns with the JAMES that comes with PP2012 which is not G2.
I can use the suit I converted with Poser 7 and WW originally, I was hoping that I might get a better conversion with the new versions.
Thanks for all of our help and persistence on this. ph

I have a P6 James Flightsuit that I want to convert to a P5 Don.
I have Poser Pro 2012 with Wardrobe Wizard. I've run the conversion before with Poser 7 and the older WW that results in a converted clothing prop that is lined up along the legs and arms properly when conformed. Althought the props needs considerable smoothing.
However, when I use the PP 2012 and WW, this flight suite will NOT line up with the arms - the arms of the suit are at "neck level" and to the front of Don P5. Also, I tried to convert to Simon P7 with the same result. The arms are not lining up and no amount of shifting can correct it properly.
Ideas on what I might be doing wrong or is there another way to correct this? I have duplicated the problem on two separate installs of PP 2012. Both on Windows 7.
