Happy to say, I finally got my first render posted to this website!  Hurray!  It was a scene I modeled from scratch, and rendered in Cycles engine.  Used a lot of copositing nodes, and stuff to create the effects.  There's little to no photoshop on this image.

The window, which is the centerpiece of the render, is a beautiful complex model design based on a really great tutorial I was following for 3dsmax here in the 3D Modeling forum.  I was able to follow along exceptionally well in Blender, and do everything the artist was doing in 3ds without any issues.  Some steps seemed even easier to accomplish in Blender, and I found myself waiting for the artist in the video to catch up!  There were only a few things that were obviously easier to do in 3dsmax, but I'm amazed at how great Blender stacks up to one of the best modeling applications in the CG world!

Anyway, I'm really proud of this scene, and hope you guys like it.  Took about an hour to render in Cycles, at 1200 px resolution.  I used HDRI lighting and some emitter planes to cast light where I wanted.

Thank you, Lobo3433!  I'm really proud of it.  It's the first time I've successfully followed a tutorial that wasn't specifically meant for Blender.  It's also my first image to this website.

I learned some really great things doing this scene too.  Obviously, I learned how to make that unique window by changing the surface edges with subdivision modifier, which I probably would have never figured out on my own, even though it was really simple.  I also learned about the awesome EWOCproject plugins, which came in extremely handy for a bunch of things!  Thanks to Hedheld and Cybermonk for that too.  Great couple of guys, and great forum!

That's no mean feat, HMorton! Well done. Following a tutorial meant for another modelling program is not an easy thing to do, particularly for a paint-by-the-number modeller like me who needs quite a bit of hand-holding until that "AhA!" moment hits. Definitely an accomplishments on a number of levels... good ON ya, mate! 😄

THANK YOU!  I really appreciate that.  It was a little bit of a challenge at first, I won't lie.  The guy was doing some stuff I didn't think I could duplicate in Blender off the bat, but I was wrong!  I ended up learning some tricks I didn't know before.  This is a great community.  I love visiting the modeling forums here.  Some great stuff, and no "attitude" you get in some other forums I've been.  It's very refreshing to see people using the expensive modeling software, who aren't snobby about helping Blender users.

Looks really good, and the floor appears to be textured and shaded well. I would, however, like to mention that the left side appears a bit dark. I would have added another window for fill, probably on the back wall.

It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.
