Usually I use poser or vue but as i have ended up buying a few things that I didnt read properly and can only be used in DAZ , and as DAZ is free thought Id try.I am unable to understand whats going on with DAZ search for example (not using anyones product name here to avoid upsetting anyone) i have a figure loaded and want to apply hair i find a hair called Iborg64 hair and load it . so far so good but iwant to change the colour but even a search for iborg64 hair comes back empty even the hair i just loaded is not found.Ive linked my poser libaries to daz and if i scroll though manually i can find say DAZ people and all the DAZ people will be there but if i type in DAZ people in the search it finds nothing . so can any body please tell me where Im going wrong as just scrolling through never ending lists to find stuff is impossible my poser content is over 300GB

That search is a mystery to me as well...once a month it may work.

Daz studio search function is ineffective most of the time. Even if using a proper database, the same reseach retrieves far less results inside daz studio than inside poser. My only use of poser is the search function.

On the other side, the navigation throught the content is far more effective inside DazStudio : If you know where you want to go, just type the first letters (the content tab must have the focus... click inside).

It only searches for the png image name inside the folders data base.

There are also two ways to search files and data did you try some thing simple like just the word hair ?

Also content manager must be running and all item folders have to be added to the content manager.

Just to point out DAZ is not an application, DAZ is a company with 5 different applications, Studio 4.6 is just one of them.

The search has two modes. In one mode it does a standard file search, in the other it only searches the database for entries. Make sure you are in file search mode. Also note that having CMS (Preferably PostgreSQL) installed and running helps searches, both current and future.

Search is pointless. It's better if you've organized your content so you know whether you have what you need.

the search is borked in the shop and it's a crap shoot in the forums as well, has been for some time.
