Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Quote - I've got the last item with this problem from ShareCG.
It was one of a series of SciFi-objects, some of them made on requests.
So you can drift every which way you want, rokket, but this problem doesn't seem connected with the legal status of the download.
I am not suggesting you knowingly downloaded something illegal, so if I come off that way, I apologize. It's just that others have posted problems like this and the end result was that they got the prop or figure from a site that members on here know to be one that literally steals from others and passes them off as their own. Even selling stuff that people put up here as freebies.
Since that doesn't seem to be the case with you, I'd suggest uninstall it and reinstall and see what happens.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.
None offence taken, so there's no need to apologize.
And I've tried everything I could think of. Re-installed, re-downloaded, loaded it in P8 and in P9. I even skipped using the poser-prop and imported the .obj directly into Poser. When even this failed, I concluded that the flaw must be in the mesh and gave up.
Has anyone tried loading an established figure first (i.e., V4 or other) than importing the obj? I see no posting of this attempt and I am curious if it is an actual mesh problem or the program having issues. I would go further to suggest importing an object that should work and trying to manipulate it.
Thanks everyone for your replies.
It sounds like Ometeotl has the same issue that I am having. The latest prop I am having problems with came from ShareCG as well. I have also tried re-downlaoding the item and tried opening it in Poser Pro 2012 and 2014. All with the same result. I have even tried hborre's suggestion and loaded V4 first with no problems and then the prop but still no luck.
If someone wants to try downloading the item and seeing if they get the same result the item is called the "SteampunkShip Corridor: Moon Pool" by Bad Faerie at ShareCG. I would provide a link but I am not sure if that is allowed. This is just one of a handful of items that give me this issue by different people so it is not something that is just by Bad Faerie. I think I even got some of the non-working props in the Free Stuff section of Rendo.
Found it. Downloaded it. Installed it into Poser. Prop is non-functional. I uninstalled it from Poser 10. Don't know what's wrong with it but I suspect that it is because it was first made for Daz Studio and not properly ported out for Poser use.

Weapons of choice:
Poser Pro 2012, SR2, Paintshop Pro 8
When I tried, I was able to move one ladder. Could not delete the thing from the scene afterwards. Even when I did undo for the load it stayed. When I hit redo I ended up with 2 and both were stuck.
Available on Amazon for the Kindle E-Reader Monster of the North and The Shimmering Mage

Hello everyone,
I have a question about a problem I am having with some free props and figures I am getting from a couple of sites. These props and figures are Poser compatable and load into the scene okay, but I can't seem to select them to move them or activate the parameter dials. Has anyone else had these issues? It seems rather strange. It is almost like Poser doesn't see them even though it just loaded them. I am using Poser Pro 2012 with the latest service release.
Thanks for your time and any replies.
