Subject: Can't save new files.

Really, I can't.  I cannot save new scenes from 4.7.  I dunno why, I just cannot.

In order to go forward, one must often times look to the past.

At what stage does it fail - no File>Save (or File>Save as sub item)? No dialogue to pick a location and file name? No options dialogue, if it's a file type that needs one? Or does it gather all the info and fail to create the file? If the latter, where have you tried to save?

It fails when I get the option to type in what I wanted to save the new file name as.  I write it in fine, but it just doesn't save when I click save.  In fact, nothing happens.

Is this all files types, or have you tried only scenes? Have you tried different places to save - just in your Documents folder, for example?

Correction, 4.7 will not allow me to save ANYTHING new, except for pictures.

OK, if you try to save and then go to Help>Troubleshooting>View Log, what is at the end of the log file (assuming it opens)?

It didn't say anything.  I think what had happened was a bad line of code that prevented the 'save' button scripting from actually completing.  Its fixed now with that update a few days back, but now I have a new question.  Is it possible to splice in new geometry into an already rigged model?  I don't want to have to re-rig everything... 80+ pieces = 9 or so hours of work.

Not as such, but you can use an rigged item as the source in the Transfer Utility, then add the new bones with the Joint Editor tool (select the parent bone, then right-click in the viewport) so you don't need to rebuild the bits that are working.

Thats quite the handy tool there.
