Subject: Fireflies in render

Hey all,

I am not sure if this is fireflies, artifacts, or just what term would be used to describe this. But I'm wondering what causes tiny bright white dots in a render in Firefly? I've seen it in LuxRender, and there it is usually caused by too little light. I've never witnessed it in Poser's native renderer though.

Do they appear at all level settings for rendering.  For example does it appear in draft and final render settings?

I've never had those before in poser even when there isn't enough light.

Seen these when using progressive mode. I reduced the render quality (bounces, pixel samples etc) and they went away but didn't pin down what was causing the problem.

Another thing that can cause it is a single plane mesh with a displacement map on it; that can let the light through from behind. Looking at this image it doesn't look like it could be that, though. What happens if you do a spot render just on those areas?

Seems to be a problem saving the render out as a PNG. If I save it as a JPG, then there are no issues.

Poser Pro 2014 SR 4 btw using network rendering. The errors also don't occur within Poser itself, by that I mean if I render within Poser (instead of over the network) and look at the render in Poser's Render Tab then there are no artifacts. It's just when I export to PNG, and only this setup. I've never had this happen before in any other render.

Change background color to full white, save .jpg, the bug should show.
