Subject: Missing Transform Scale Parameters on Prop

hamiltonpl ( ) posted Sun, 01 February 2015 at 10:19 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 7:49 AM

I am building a scene using the PICK building blocks from Mindvision GDS. They contain doors, windows, floors, ceilings, etc. in various configurations so you can build a room.  Mindvision GDS also provides textures.

However, on the props once loaded - the TRANSFORM dials have been replaced with move right/left, move front/back. rotate, etc.  There is NO SCALE dial though.

Is there a way to add the SCALE dial ?  The props are a bit too small for the regular sized Poser figures.  Yes, I can scale the Poser figures down but it would be easier to scale the props instead.

And, yes, I know I can export as OBJ and them re-import and all the dials magically appear again.  I was trying to avoid that.  Is there anyway to re-add the TRANSFORM dial that is missing for SCALE?

Try the Unhide Params script just a few items down....the dials might be hidden.

Thank you. That was it.  Can't imagine why these were hidden.  But, they're back!!

oops.  The prop that was created as a FIGURE - it worked. The other props it does not.  If I open a NEW scene and bring the prop in then it does work. However it won't work on mulitple props in the same scene.  Dang it.  I am going to have to fix each piece by running the script and resaving it in the prop library.

If you parent the props to the one that's a figure they should take on the scale of the parent.

Depending on which Poser you're using, isn't "show hidden parameters" an option in the parameter's pallet? (Click the triangle at the top right of parameter pallet for drop down menu.) If you check it, you see ALL hidden parameters on every item in the scene. No script required.

I  am on Poser Pro 2012. I fixed all of those props.  But I also notice that on HAIR props the PROPERTIES tab sometimes shows nothing. The hair renders ok but you can't turn on/off the various options on the properties tab.

Any idea how to get the PROPERTIES tab back on?  The script provided earlier doesn't fix that tab.  Again, this is just for HAIR.

Another option is to parent all the PICK constructions to a null prop. Build the scene, parent everything to the null, scale that and the entire building will scale as a single unit. I just finished a building that way.
