Subject: Why is freestuff from Renderosity NOT free?

Why is freestuff from Renderosity NOT free?

Sometimes rendo offers items from the store for a limited time for free, like "Luck O' The Green" today.

But different to all other shops (DAZ, RDNA) who offer similar products for free, we have to pay a minimum of 3.50$ to get them. That is not free.

If Rendo would have his headquarter in Europe we could sue them for misleading advertising.

I hope they will change it immediatly. Thanks for the vendors to give their items free. But as long I was compeled to buy other things to get them, Rendo do their customers no favour. To say, they have a "Free Stuff" section did noit count for me, 'because most of the items from there can anyone also download at ShareCG, DeviantArt or other related sites. Rendo did not host them on their own servers.

Daz does it too...

It's pretty common practice to offer a free item with purchase.

and Daz does the same thing, so it's not unique to Renderosity.

Though this is a confusing way to explain it:  "System minimum $3.50 requirement still applies when checking out with this item."

Would be better to say:  "Free with any purchase of $3.50 or more!"

Daz offers this in their announcemets that you get an item for free, when you buy another, but here it loos that i can getthe item for free without buying another one. Apart from DAZ offers weekly more than 10 freebies from their content and I don't need to buy something extra.

The items that are offered up for a limited time at a 0.00 price are just that a limited time ZERO priced item then they go back to regular price. Our gracious vendors offer up a freebie for the newsletters and those remain as freebies because they were created to be freebies for newsletter subscribers, that is the intend of those. The Zero priced items in the marketplace are actual content that was specifically created for sale not intended as a "freebie" but the vendors that choose to give back to the customers by having it at zero price do this with a "regular" quality marketplace product to give back to the customer base.

It's not advertised or promoted as a FREEBIE it's promoted as a ZERO (0.00) priced marketplace item.

And just to note our Freestuff area is where vendors put freebies they create specially to be freebies and that is promoted that way when it's in our freestuff section as that is what that area is for.  If you search through the freestuff area you will see a lot of vendor put freebies there and there is no checkout process, it's a free download area of the site

You mentioned in your original post Renderosity does not "host the freestuff" items, yes we do host them. Members might upload them to different sites but we do host the files.

The marketplace is just that, the marketplace so it's a place for items "for sale" so the items that are Zero priced there are not "freebies" and not advertised that way.
