In loving memory of "Cow". My mom found one of my cats, "Cow", lifeless underneath the car in the garage. (He went missing for a couple of days.) *sniff* <:-(

Thanks so much, Syyd. I'm still in a bit of shock. My mom broke the news to me just this afternoon, and I didn't even get to say goodbye (she had him buried this morning). We have no clue what caused his untimely demise. The pic above was the last I took of him. <-(

Starshuffler check for antifreeze in the garage. Its sweet smell and taste is attractive to animals but also very deadly. Sorry to here about your loss and I can emphasize(sp?) as I lost my Blue to similar sititution not to long ago. It is amazing how quickly animals can get into your heart.

I'm with you too - ours still hasn't returned since we came back off holidays, even though it was here & being fed quite happily while we were away - I'd just like to know where he is, coz he's a real 'homely' cat.... it's 3 weeks now, and I hate to say it but I do have suspects in foul play.... no proof unfortunately.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. RJH, the garage is empty save for the car and a wooden ladder. I don't see any antifreeze. When our cats die of old age or depression, they simply leave and never come back. Cow is hardly 7 human years old and he was up and about last time we saw him. I have reason to believe it must have been foul play. This reminds me of a short story by Neil Gaiman. It's called "The Price" off his anthology "Smoke and Mirrors". Thanks again. (*

Star, I had this cat Orpheus, he was a soul mate, Im not kidding you, when I was sick, the cat would sit at the top of the bed all night and keep vigil, if I had a fever or was freezing he would cuddle in tight to me, he'd clean my hair, he was my best friend. One morning my roomate let him out accidentally, he was not an outdoor kitty, and when I got up a half an hour later he was outside across from my house, laying in the grass dead. I will never forget him, he was a true friend. This nutcase I have now, Tucker Bones Jackson, I have had for seven years and I love him to pieces, so I understand.

Hey, all our cats might be in the same place now, having fun-- Cow, Blue, Prudy and Orpheus (nice name, btw). I'm definitely feeling better after reading all the posts... :-i Thanks everyone.
