We just made a new website that provide a lot quality free 3d models (almost models is for 3ds max with .max format), vr materials (updating) and CG News.

For now we already have 30+ free 3d models ready to download (we're still updating day by day).

The first thing I tried included Victoria 3 and Grace Lion Hair textures. I can't open the MAX file, but I can guess where the mesh is derived from.

And what caution do you mean?

max files can only be opened by 3dsmax.

for most users an obj file would be a big plus.

as with many sites on the web the copyright on the models is a concern.   EnglishBob seems to have concerns over the source of a couple of things. Since he is a well known old-timer in the Poser community his opinion bears weight .   That said I think he would be prepared to go to site mail to discuss his concerns.

That said, thanks for the models, I am looking to see what is not in max format.

what if they also got max free?  I can't use max if still windows-only.

can't even use octane due to lousy radeon card.  total bummer.

I dl'd a building and though I can't open max files(no max) I did look at the textures and they looked from the signage to be of Russian origin. When I was Moderating Freestuff I warned against using any ,ru site as most of them were re cycling pirated objects and programs. Just my 2 cents Canadian...worth less than last year, hee hee hee

I took a look at one of the models, and it very clearly uses V3 textures, which means the model is V3, which is a violation of the DAZ Licensing Agreement.  I would not download anything from this site.

These types of 'free' sites are over the place.  They are usually based in some sleazy country with lax laws and offer all manner of files stolen from commercial distributors like Turbosquid and Archexteriors/interiors.  I'm not sure what the business model is but this site is clearly offering stolen stuff.   I opened a few files and found many of the internal names to be in an Asian font, a clear indicator that the file had been doctored by a 3d farm in China somewhere.  The only place you'll find free 3D files of this caliber is in the Blender community.

Were I still a Mod for this, this thread would be gone and the posting member banned for life...fuckin pirate....
