Subject: Genesis 3 Female into Poser 2014 Tutorial

midnight_stories ( ) posted Thu, 25 June 2015 at 12:22 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 11:50 PM

This is a tutorial on how to get Genesis 3 Female into Poser 2014. It's not perfect and just shows the basics, I'm no expert so take it easy !
Face expression don't work due to the fact there are no groups for the face bones, I think it's because they get lost in the conversion to TriAx Weight maps. Best Viewed in HD !

Many thanks. The only problem I have is that I do not have a DSON directory! Do I have to create it? Cheers

If I am not mistaken and this was back when DSON was a separate installer back with Daz 4.5 before DIM you installed DSON and it had several files that were to be installed in a order that would create Genesis Starter Essentials folder that contained the runtime folder that you would add to Posers runtime Library here is link that is from Daz wiki page that might helps some Installing the DSON Importer for Poser I think parts of it still hold true but some of the information is a bit out of date

Hope this helps some

Many thanks everyone. I have managed to get her into Poser OK. But I cannot seem to get her hair and clothes into  Poser. Any suggestions? Cheers

I tried to get her to work in Poser as well .. she loaded and took poses from G2 & V4 perfectly except for the neck and the head .. they gone realy weird .. so you did a better job then me .. being a newbie myself in stuff like this as you are ;) .. Unfortunate we will still not be able to use the characters and stuff to apply on her .. but this is a start and thumbs up!! :)

@ as a reply to Arrow1:
the DSON directory in your Poser will be automaticly created by DAZ inside the folder that you point at to convert the product to as soon as you make Poser companion files .. (hope my explaining makes sense ;) )

As for hairs there's a little tip I can give if you like to use your current hairs for G2 or G3 that f.e. original are made for V4:
add the hair in the scene when your girl is still in zero pose and apply parenting to the head when it's a prop Hair .. if it's a figure hair set figure parent and choose head
morphs will stay in tact and luckely the sizes of all 3 girls heads are pretty much the same so minor adjusting is needed ;)

Not sience either .. but handy to keep on enjoy the hairs you have already and saves a bit of money no buying of updates ;)

Many thanks everyone. One more question: Midnight mentions he has exported posed for Genesis 3 Female. Do you have to go through the same operation of Triax Weight mapping and saving as a subset converting to Poser companion files. Cheers

Arrow1: The default directory for CF files created out of DS is in your Documents folder/DAZ3D and then a normal Runtime file structure.

Midnight_Stories: Thanks!

donnena: Thanks for the link.
