Subject: Highlighting for already bought products is gone

Hello toghether

I am missing the highlighting of already owned products. I took a screenshot for example.

The Honey character on the left I bought some days before, but cart icon is not changed to this light green color.

that's due to their "grab bag" promotion.  not sure why they disabled it for these next two days, but it's mentioned in the product "Grab Bag"... [shrug]

Well, me too.  Except that I learned something. My Icon for purchased items has never changed colors that I've  noticed, but when I go to the page it would say 'purchased' if I had bought it.  And that's not happening.

I accept the explanation above, though Rendo people should know that once they train subscribers to depend on Rendo telling them it was purchased, they are less likely to mentally check their brain or any other records they have. In my case I almost bought something I already just bought thinking "I thought I just bought that, but I guess I meant to but didn't and switched it out at the last moment."  However, I did check records and then went through several items to verify the 'purchased' loop was turned off and that this was not an error but rather repeatable for all previously purchased items.

I feel There should be a bigger flag somewhere on the site noting when the 'Purchased'  function is turned off and that it shouldn't be buried in a promotional note.

We have to turn the flags off for Grab bag promotions so people can buy a product and add the "grab bag product" to there cart on more than one order.

Rats, I think I have made duplicate purchases - before I noticed the reason why associated with the grab-bag.  As and when I work out just what (assuming I am right) would be a chance of a refund?

I noticed this too for the 31st prime coupon of lilflame (love lilflame stuff)

Makes buying very difficult so my order will be rather short.

Uh, not very smart with several huge clearance categories of old stuff running at the same time. Was going to go through these to pick up a lot of stuff but that looks like a mission impossible now as I can't see what I already have. 

This has been a problem for several years now, you should really make a workaround so grab bag can work without disabling the purchased check.

This is a bit groundhog day, or rather year...

Every year there is the same problem, then the same suggestion (which is good), then someone says that suggestion is good and will be sent to the techs, and then the next year we are merrily doing all the dance again.

So, another year is gone and...

  • I understand that you need to enable the "add to cart" button to allow for multiple purchases

  • but you could simply enable the button without changing it from "purchased" to "add to cart"

Good idea? Good idea! You should forward it to the tech people so that they can resist from adding this fix next year... :-)

or instead of this 'pick a name out of a hat' thing [which is really more what it is than a "retail grab bag" idea], you simply create a list of available freebies from which a customer can select the item[s] that interest them.  there would be absolutely no reason to disable the "puchased/add to cart" feature, and the "fun" remains intact as well.

seems rather simple to me... MUCH easier coding than apparently fixing the search features proves to be [sigh]

Just out of curiosity, why can't you make an exception in the programming for the grab bag product the way you have for the gift cards, which of course can be bought as many times as you want?

Hey Kristi, you folks do realize people on prime are trying to pick up items they missed at $3.50?  Since this is the last day to do that, this is really incredibly bad timing to turn off purchase notification.

I had a nice order going, did my homework to make sure I hadn't duplicated since this basic feature was turned off but the lilflame coupon didn't work either (I was in the time, it hadn't expired), so I said screw it and cleared the basket. If this is a repeating problem perhaps someone should see that it doesn't happen again. I am not normally one to complain but I am doing you a favor telling you that you lost a sale.
