I have a question. Can I donate $5.00 GC to the runner up (honorable mention/ 3rd place)
Thanks for posting Margy, I almost forgot to upload mine.

I'm nor sure how I missed this challenge I've even looked for one since the challenges started in the DS forum a few months back (voting is still open for the current DS challenge if anyone is interested in dropping by and voting for their favorite render). I'm rather amazed that there are only two entries since this is such an active forum. Maybe everyone here is more interested in posting (arguing?) than rendering. Anyway, I hope Rendo keeps having these for a few months and participation grows, it could be a great way to get more people involved in the community here again!
Even though Margy and RedPhantom are both winners by default, I'll go ahead and cast a vote. I really like both images, but I think that I'll have to cast my vote for Margy - the Wolverine never looked so cute!
Congratulations to both for entering, and for putting in the time to make an entry!

Congrats to the two winners MargyThunderstorm and RedPhantom.
Thanks for participating.
Hope we can get more people involved next time.
Thanks, but its a hollow victory. I dislike winning by default. Though Margy really won since she actually got some votes. Which means I came in last. But I always expect to come in last. I just don't normally get a prize from it. More people need to participate next time!

What's the next topic? Hopefully something dark. Btw, it says you can't participate if you've won before. I wouldn't mind taking part in one of these challenges but I won a few years ago under a different user name. Does this disqualify me from future participation?

I think it's the image that can't have won, rather than the person. That's how it's been explained in the past. But I don't make the rules so I could be wrong. Of course it could explain why there were only 2 entries. We're running out of people who haven't won.

You're right shane, it wasn't a critical comment of the previous topic tone. Obviously anything by Alan Moore or Frank Miller is filled with that and similar aesthetic would have been easily applied to the superhero topic. I was just making an off the cuff generalization, like wouldn't it be neat if the topic were 'read a Lovecraft or Barker or King (insert genre author) story, create a custom antagonist or subject, and render a scene inspired by' type of topic. which I suppose isn't too far off from the previous theme. Anyway, thanks for looking into that.
Redphantom, yeah it's traditionally been a small pool for the render challenge. I remember we were in one together for a Dungeons and Dragons theme. They did away with the challenge for a while, didn't they?

Theme: Superheroes Reimagined!
Create an image that depicts your favorite superhero, heroin or villain in an original way. Give them a new identity.
Maybe Batman is really part bat.
Maybe Superman is really evil, and Lex Luthor is the hero trying to save the world from Superman's domination.
Tell their story in your image. Be creative and original.
