Subject: New Layout Visual Nightmare

Amethyst_Heart ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 1:37 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 2:30 PM

Well I've read the other people's opinions now for my own.

The new site is a total nightmare for myself with visual and light reflection issues. After 30 minutes on new site last night I was left with my eyes streaming and my head bouncing off the wall with a migraine.

Please tell me that you had a dyslexic/Meares Irlen Syndrome or visual impairment person in the testing of this site but honestly my thoughts are no. This site now is my worst nightmare/enemy and I honestly thought that nothing could be worse than facebook's white overload.

Eyes are pulled in every direction with the horror/layout of the site, it is far to much info on the home page alone, you scroll and it gets worse. So now to avoid the worst of this, I'll be bookmarking only the pages I need on renderosity because otherwise this would have me walking away.

I'm sorry but new site is causing me migraines and it's only way I can cope

Piper

I dont like the new site also and I also dont like the new gallery style and formats for uploads. Seems Renderosity wants no customers and artists anymore

Online Now!

I've posted one image today and looked through the site; all very confusing; I think I'll take a week off and then look in again to see if things have improved.
Can't spend any money anyway; have just bought a new iMac.

the new format is a joke and the editing menu gives me always back a blank frozen in white screen no fun at the moment let's see how far it goes.

I agree. I forsee far far far fewer purchases here now. And besides, I can't find the Daily Deals anymore. I almost never bought anything unless I could nab it at a decent sale price since regular prices I think have gotten out of hand. A few weeks ago I had to laugh at someone marketing a 3d goblet (and about as plain as could be) for $20. When you have crap at stupid prices, it's not good for longtime merchants who price more reasonably and consumers. Anyway, I digress, but yeah, this layout is atrocious. Not long ago Daz changed their layout. Didn't like it at first but I got used to it. Not so sure about this though at all....

@Piper, is that a Sammy in your avatar? Samoyeds rule :)

UlyssesV have no clue but it's either Samoyed or white wolf, my friend makes all my avatars for me

I have to agree, I hate the new format. It does not show properly on my screen anymore, we are back to lots of needless scrolling when viewing products or gallery images because clearly this was layed out for smartphones and tablets that are taller than wide. Way to snub all of the regular PC users that come here... especially when much of the software the content sold here is for wont run on tablets or smartphones. The text is far too small now, the thumbnails far too large (hell, I can't even see one complete row displayed now, have to scroll to see the bottom half of the thumbnails and the product name - which makes visual shopping a pain). I can't find the download buttons on any of the free items I have looked at - but the REPORT button jumps out at you.

I WISH TO GOD THE ADMINS HERE WOULD QUIT REDESIGNING THE SITE EVERY COUPLE YEARS JUST FOR LAUGHS!

what is going to be a deal breaker for me is if the preview images on the marketplace dont reduce in size very soon. I'm on 1920 x 1200 resolution but the layout lets you see a row of 4 items in full and 1/2 of 4 underneath? It must be almost a textbook case of how to stop someone want to do online browsing. Do they really expect us to scroll like mad even though there are oceans of underused or advertising space?

I've been buying less and less over the last three years or so to the point where after my card got hacked I've only made two purchases via paypal. which were incredibly hard to make because the paypal check out does not work. It seems to me that The Renderosity Staff has the most incapable people working on the actual layout of the site. The New Gallery is Horrid and cumbersome as is the new market place. There is one thing I have to say. I HATE INFINITE SCROLL.

Keeping the Departments layout with the 3d figure essentials and removing the Vendor Search was beyond asinine!

I feel like Renderosity has been treating its vendor and consumer base the worst of any site I visit so to that I only have one thing to say. NOT COOL.

I have not posted an image to the gallery in over a year because I got sick of the limitations. Now I post over at Deviant Art.

Well, some improvements have been made it seems. I can now see a single row of thumbnails is the market. But I still feel the thumbnails, header, and footer are far too large - it makes shopping much harder.

The product pages themselves are still a complete nightmare to me. The buttons for "Add to Cart" "Add to Wishlist" etc... are huge if I want to be able to read the text, and the main image on most products goes way off page.

the site is a nightmare, sorry rendo, but you need to sack your web designers, cos they certainly don't know how to code and design websites.
losing search by vendor is really bad. the site loads extremely slow, compared to previously( it was slow enough then!) the layout is very cluttered and jumbled.
if the PTB had any sense, you would at least revert back to previous site design.
then, ASK the customer base what they would like. then you should hire a GOOD web design firm and get them to design a website that the CUSTOMERS would like.
STOP trying to make the site cellphone and 'tablet' ultra friendly.
the majority of your user base are accessing the site on a PC, NOT a tablet or smart phone.

okies, rant over, and no doubt it will be ignored like every comment that doesn't gush with approval of the new site ROFL!!!!

The new layout is a complete disaster. A tiled horror, ugly and nonfunctional.
Looks like a very badly done phone app. I am not sure I will keep visiting this site on a regular basis.
