Subject: New site confusion - where is link to my account?

mazzam ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 5:53 AM · edited Wed, 02 October 2024 at 2:55 AM

I cannot find a link to my account. You know, the page with links to purchases, Prime membership info, etc. It's not on the list at the top of the page and I can't identify any iccn for it. Same in both Firefox and Safari - macintosh. Also no member name, no l;ogin or logout.

On my screen there is a grey box with a white silhouette to the right of the Wiki link on the top of the screen. If I click on that it brings up a menu including My Account & My Wishlist.

Thanks. I found it. That grey box was almost invisible. By the way, color choice for links is incredibly bad, but that isn't new. Site designers should be required to take a course on human factors. Saturated colors on a black background make for almost invisible text.

One of the fundamental problems with modern web design is that the people behind the designs are obsessed with getting clicks and turning as many portions of a site into revenue generating space as possible. The fact that that usually results in a loss of functionality and a poorer customer experience often doesn't come into consideration, because many of the people creating the site never buy the product they sell. As a subsidiary of a company that does web design, Rendo should really know better, but, then again, if the site never changes then all of the people who get paid to create and implement new sites don't have jobs...

Thanks... I couldn't find it either.

In the forums it's the little blue white square with a shadow of a person at the top. Close to the right. Really, really poor design.

I looked and looked. I never would have found it without coming here. It's a stupid design. The button has my avatar on it, but it's so small I didn't recognize it. Mousing over it tells you nothing.

The store pages show it differently, but sort of in the same location. Mousing would help, hopefully they'll add that feature, but they are working on getting the bugs out.

Thank you for the suggestion as I have it down and will certainly add it to the others 😄
