Subject: Chat : missing in action
ok.. this IS tame. no one's broken the TOS (well not to badly...) and since we don't have our home, this is on topic.
and trust me. never. ever. use that phrase again "we're in this together"... as used by UK politicians, when they're raking in the money but cutting everything to the public... kinda seen as an insult ;)
"in this together" - problem is I no longer feel part of the community - i have to rely on a child to navigate me past the main page or someone to link me in, once i hit the forum / Market Place - i've got approx if lucky 30 mins before I split another migraine on this eyesore - I'm seriously considering giving up all I love because I feel we are falling on deaf ears.
As it stands the chat has been down 52 hours nearly and i can't shop on this site - can't use it and i've nothing worth designing for any more - this change over has killed a passion for the one thing that keeps me fighting - All I can do in my mither tongue is say that the site is a "mogre" or "glaikit" and the web designer is a "ballache".
This is the point in time I would be telling everyone about the lemon meringue pie I made tonight... but can't eat till morning... but chat is still down...
But seriously, the "or so" part has me worried. Is the chat being completely redone in a new system? Is the old chat being integrated with a couple bug fixes? Should I get out and push?
Seriously, some of us are programmers... maybe we can help?

Wobbled out of bed at 5:30 this morning... Was hoping we could all get together today in Chat, but it's still down. Wish I could say when it would be back up again. This new website design has everyone in an uproar and I'm tired. Skype me after 9 am. I'll be around.

Well, I see things don't change, Eric crying like a baby as always, Boni at least attempted to stick up for the chatters, and Kimberly, I have to say, although this is not chat, this is a topic about chat, therefore, there is no real topic. The point for the people who actually use the chat facility is to discuss whatever seems relevant to them at the time, this one topic, in the whole of the forum, is probably the only one that is actually on topic, because it's as diverse as the people in it. I have seen no fighting, no threats, nothing in fact that would cause the topic to deteriorate into the cesspools of ridicule and anger that have become so common here of late. Why then, is it deemed necessary to give any kind of "warning", "advice" or whatever we are calling it today?
if you want for this to have some kind of fluidity, I think you are going to be sorely disappointed. The regular chatters (with a couple of exceptions) are pretty good at policing themselves for the most part, and as soon as chat is fixed, you can pretty much guarantee this will be a dead topic.
P.S. we can no longer drag and drop images either.
