I really don't understand the Mention part. How do I simply quote someone, I do notice that Razor has a mention button under his post but yours Guardian_Angel_671 doesn't?

LPR001 ( ) posted Fri, 21 August 2015 at 2:54 AM

@4222137 How do I simply quote someone - tparo if you wish to mention another member before you type anything click on the @ at the bottom that members post for example you have said Razor42 click @ his number will appear at the top left in your comment box you just simply type your message and that is it. Guardian_Angel is a Mod or Cord so to contact them you would need to go through the normal channels. In the forum that would be to scroll up top of the feed and click on the name you wish to contact and send your sitemail message. If I needed to quote someone I would copy paste the sentence I wanted and place after the mention as I have done with this message. I found that the quickest. Just remember click the mention first because if you spend the time writing your message and then click @ there is every possibility the screen will refresh and you text will no longer be there. I learnt this the hard way :-)

You can also use a less than symbol at the start of the sentence, when you're citing someone like

Example of a citation

Ideally a quote should look like above, but I needed to hardcode it all...

EDIT: Something about that quote reference I like :)

Thanks LPR001 I don't want to contact Guadian Angel just wanted to quote what she said but she doesn't have one of those mention buttons under post.
I gather from what you are saying, sorry if I've got it wrong, but now the way to quote what someone has said is to copy and paste it and if you want to say who said it you use the mention button but you need to do it at the right time. Probably easier to just type there name.
How do I delete my Gallery I tried but the images are still there.
Also I really am quite offended by the recommended for you images I've been assigned as well is there a way to change them.

Razor42 ( ) posted Fri, 21 August 2015 at 3:57 AM ยท edited Fri, 21 August 2015 at 3:58 AM

I deleted my whole gallery yesterday, unfortunately you need to delete each item individually now. As the delete gallery button has been "Fixed".
Once you have deleted an image, it will appear like it is still there but if you refresh the page or delete another image, the first will be gone on refresh. Rinse and repeat. Unfortunately the whole process means you will have to view possibly hundred of advertisements.

@4222153 Razor42 if this is the issue you raised with me yesterday that has been passed on hopefully it will be sorted soon.

@4222149 tparo If I was to take a quote that is how I would do it for now and I will be happy to update you when I find a better way myself as this set up is new to me also. Having the @ mention button under a mod or cords name would not be wise as they would receive too many mentions and would not be able keep up and then the member would think they have been ignored, a site mail is actually contained in one location and can be referred to easily and also a record of the contact
As for your recommended images I think as you choose pics you look at over time it will get a better understanding of what you like to look at and then show you more related content, mine at the moment is Fae and Fairies granted I did buy more than a few for a client and few pics uploaded to gallery I am sure I will never live it down. I click on every car I see now :-)

@4222149 tparo I might have been incorrect with my last comment as I said I am learning the new site same as you and now I had time to look around a little it looks to me like you can mention a Mod or Cord but appears that the person who actually starts the thread will not have the @ mention and that would be because they would receive automatic notification that somebody has posted on their thread. I will ask the question and confirm but if I have the @ here on this post at the bottom then that would be right. However that does not mean you are guaranteed an answer since while I was cruising around trying to figure this out I noticed a few pointed my way that I had no idea about LOL early days :-)

@4222348 not really that sure I helped out at all Guardian_Angel_671 you would have to know what you are doing first. I have raised the notification issue.

Razor42 has put up a good idea without realizing it (He does that sometimes I noticed). Maybe a pinned thread here on the Daz forum for a month or so where the members can test out things new to the site like their signatures working with the markdown get their head around the features etc that way they can have 10 goes whatever, it does not matter if it ends up looking like a dogs breakfast ...........so what . **** Providing it is kept within the normal guidelines of course**** Then once everybody has their fun and games and it stops being active we could remove it. Saves unleashing your "Is this going to work moments" on an ordinary thread. Just a thought but if that is something that could be useful during the transition just say so and it will happen.

Signatures have been nerfed to not allow any images anymore.
Which would of been good to know before I attempted to get them working for an hour or so...

@4222728 Okay Razor42 thanks I am going to follow it up over the original post that was made on the 20th I understood they were removing the insecure http as that is a very sensible move but you could link https. I thought that was it case closed that's how it is done from now on. last post I read was Boni asking how to set her pic for the Sig. On the revisit via your link I now need clarification on the events that took place after that because it is a little head spinning with what I am reading.

Yep, didn't make a great deal of sense to me either. Felt a little like being led down the rabbit hole.

"If you want this then you need to do that, but in the end no matter what you do even if you do that as I described, it won't work because we designed it not to work. Pls let us know if you have any questions"

But do I look surprised ;)

@4222758 Now Now Razor42 you know I will follow this up and get back to you. I think it could be a communication breakdown.......... it has to be or I am going back to see my doctor.

I like the new look. The top isn't wasted by all those banners and things. People should stop quoting. It's hard to tell when the quote ends and the response begins.
