I don't have an issue with ad blocker. Not sure anyone does. Ad blocker makes the site when I actually bother to go on these days... a lot easier to deal with then ad's all over the place that have no bearing on 3d or my interests. Got some downright freaky ads, and no I'm not looking for a sleep number bed either, or male enhancement stuff, or hair stuff, ... or or I think you get the point. So Ad Blocker been great for my sanity.

Programmer says Adblock Plus does not work with IE..Only firefox and chrome
I'm using it with IE11 and it works. It doesn't have the option of disabling tracking and the social media buttons but the basics work. It blocks ads but lets you choose not to block the non-intrusive ones and also lets you choose sites not to block the ads at all.
So, what ad blocker are you all using successfully?
Firefox is my browser of choice.
My antiviruses are slowing down the loading of pages and I think at least some of it has to do with the ads.
This is the link for 'adblock plus' that comes to the top with a google search. Is that the one most folks are using?
BTW I don't like this 'markdown' at all. You took away buttons that made things easy. I wanted to embed the link so people could click on it but I feel it is not worth my effort.
EDIT
Got it, but Really? If you like Markdown, you'll really love MS DOS: CD C: ^^ :)
Hmm won't take a backslash in text without more reading of Markdown manual.
Depending on what additional ad blocking software you're using (ghostscript or noscript can cause problems with it, can't remember which), you might want to use Adblock Edge instead as it does not force you to have certain things greenlisted Google analytics being the most famous example (or has the mandatory greenlisting been done away with in the latest versions?)
I know that close to a year ago, at least, Mozilla sold out and caved to pressure from businesses to create greenlists for "non-intrusive ads" that could not be redlisted. Adblock Edge was then released to eliminate that problem. I have had zero problems with Edge.
Element-hiding helper allows you to highlight any element on the page and hide it-- you have to be careful however since blocking the wrong element, or too broad an element will block most of the page contents. One thing I used it for was to get rid of that "secured by bla bla" tab on the bottom right of RDNA that I always clicked on by mistake when trying to click on the lowermost right product on the page or screen.

You about had it, to do links put the text in brackets and the link url in paranethes after it like this:
[Ad Blocker Plus](https://adblockplus.org/)
which becomes
I have created a helper guide here
which we used to highlight link, press button, done.
how is markdown better again? twice the work.. and on a mobile keyboard such as Swiftkey or Swype, a right pain in the arse, (remember this is supposed to be a mobile friendly site now. erm nope...), and if your dyslexic? a g'damn nightmare.
who thought this up? seriously?
In IE the icon is at the bottom in your status bar. Do you have that enabled? If you do and still don't see it maybe you need to check your settings Tools-Internet Options-Advanced and make sure "Enable third party browser extensions" is checked. If you still don't see the icon bottom right then check out this page: http://simple-adblock.com/faq/menu-icon-does-not-apear-in-statusbar/
Thanks for the info and the the Direct link to Markdown. I did my direct link with teh less than and greater than symbols, but that meant I could only get the link active, not title it.
Thank you, IceEmpress. Loved your comment about RDNA. I thought I was the only one who regularly hit that gosh-darned annoying Sassafrassa triangle earth pop-up on the lower right.
AdBlock Plus for Firefox and Noscript gets rid of the site's unwelcome ads. It also stops dangerous flash content that has been compromised on many other websites (as well as flash from auto running and hogging memory). Google Chrome's newest update blocks flash automatically. Highly recommended. Also banner ads can be compromised (as recently big websites like Yahoo and others had happen) so blocking them can be a good security measure.
Edited to add
I misspoke, it's Sept 1 that Google Chrome stops Flash completely.

The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.
More about the recent banner ad Malware attacks elsewhere (page 2 is where the specifics of Yahoo and others are spoken about)

I'm on my iPad and iPhone so just have Safari and these crazy ads (Tide detergent, movers, etc...) that have nothing to do with art are driving me crazy. Please bring back ads that are relevant to the site if you must have ads.

That is a result of Google Analytics and Google Adsense. These track which sites you visit, which search terms you enter, and then load advertisements which are relevant to these results. There are many different ways to block those.
--Adblock + now has certain cookies whitelisted. Adblock Edge does away with mandatory whitelists. However, IIRC Adblock Edge has issues with Ghostery.
--NoScript blocks javascript based cookies that Adblock+ does not. It can also be used to disable Javascript entirely, though this often causes problems with loading the site/site functionality.
--Ghostery
--For Safari, there are Incognito and Lil-Snitch (both do basically the same thing, to my understanding)
