Ok this is bizarre-i boolean out a cube to make it an L shape and it shows up fine in both programs-but when i boolean out the cube to be hollow like a box it show up as solid-i cut the top off of it in bryce and sure enough its hollowed out but the cubes appear like thin paper-like the walls of the box are hollow-someone out there has to have true space or had this problem before-its like the boolean will cut things up but it wont hollow things out-although i did hollow out a sphere to make it like a cup and that imported fine-it seems to be just with the cube when i hollow it out like a box-sheesh-only me :-(
I've tried this now with more setting changes then I can count and still ends up the same. Tried it in cob format and still the same. Although I've not had a situation where I needed to import such an object into Bryce from TS yet. I sure would like to know I could do so. If you come up with a solution to this pa902, let me know. Try saving as Wavefront Object (.OBJ) and see what happens.

Booleans in some packages are procedural meaning its kind of like executing code to make the shape show up ie. "this shape is a box minus a cylinder" instead of "this shape is a polygonal mesh that looks like a box with a hole" mesh. In 3DStudio I reduce the final object to a mesh. I don't use TRuespace but I would imagine there is a way to tell it to reduce your object to an editable mesh. From there you'll have the true polygonal mesh and can export fine.

I just started creating models with True Space4 and saving them as .3ds files -they import fine into poser but when i created some using boolean subtraction when i import them into poser they show up as solid-i even tried them in Bryce and got the same thing-they look fine in True Space-what the heck is going on? If someone can figure this out id really appreciate it-thanks....Pa902
