I am not an impatient man; having acquired the noble title and esteemed status of Senior Citizen I have learned how to smile while I wait. But Rendo is now taking so long to load its pages that really it's getting past a joke.

So I borrowed a stopwatch this evening and made a note of the time it took me to move from page to page. There were about 2,000 artists on line

First let me point out that Daz and RDNA loaded their first page this evening instantly; I could flit from page to page in no time at all while I browsed the goodies on display for my delectation. Other websites were also quick to respond to the click of the mouse

Second my machine, which is a new iMac, is no slouch, my broadband connection (Virgin) is fast: ping 28ms, download 159.94 Mbps, upload 12.18 Mbps. (And my purchases at Rendo have gone down not because of site changes but because Macs ain't cheap, with the result that I have been very short of pennies recently.)

And can I flit from page to page at Rendo, reading comments, making comments and admiring the artistry and merchandise? Can I hell. It's more like wearing lead boots than flitting.

Time to open Renderosity page: 54s (Prime flash pix not showing even after 2 minutes.)

I want to make comments, - Time to open 'notifications': also 54s.... from 'notifications' to given picture: 45s...
There are ten comments. Read comments. Click on first artist making comment and go to their page: 48s. Make my comment on their work; and return: 50s ....

Round trip for one comment (ignoring the time it takes to make my comment): 98s. There are ten artists to visit; total 980 seconds plus time for my comments. Today I have three pictures to check for comments - if they each get ten comments then that's 3 x 980s or 48 minutes plus my comments.

Which makes it obvious that though 40 - 50 seconds is a drop in the ocean as far as the universe is concerned, all those drops mount up and making my way from page to page here at Rendo is better described as wading through treacle.

I haven't had much spare time today so tomorrow I'll spend an hour or so 'commenting'; at presnt Rendo page-loading velocity an artist with three or more pages of comments will probably need a week to get their commenting done ...

Amen brother, I don't have a MAC but a very fast PC and my ISP is no slouch speed wise either, no where near your 150Meg but fast enough at 6meg to stream HiDef Movies without a hiccup and speedily browse any other site. Renderosity is the worst for Click response and Load Time of any other site, exactly why I have cut back from multiple visits/day to once maybe twice per week single visits and cut uploads from 3 to 5 a week to maybe once a week if that because it's too time consuming, something needs to be done because it's getting to laborious to even visit what used to be my main home on the internet for over 8 years

This is crazy. Tonight I'm downloading a new purchase - and look how long it's going to take! I think I'll get a cup of tea and pack in for tonight and try the download again tomorrow to see if anything's improved.

Well now, there's a huge improvement this morning (9am over here in the UK). Rendo pages loading almost instantaneously, and - compared with yesterday evening (it was close to 10pm) very smoothly. Download back to normal (forgot to time it, though). So I retract my rude remarks about wading and treacle and just hope that today's performance will be maintained. And I see Gallery Pages are back for the 'Whats New' items; which is nice.

Hello there ,most of the time this week I cant even sign in to Rendero, and yes I am waiting 20s- 50s between each click,I really cant do anything here, I also have a pretty new computer and virgin broadband 150meg .I am writing this post to see if someone can fix this.I am in UK.

Slowing down again, but not as bad. Maybe it's just me, but I find 25 to 30s to change pages a bit of a wait.

Starting commenting, but it's still seems more sluggish than it used to; again, that might just be me. Here's some figures.

For comparison, if commenting:

Starting with my gallery open, choose one of mine to see comments: 29s; select first post and open their gallery: 24s; select and open one of their pictures: 28s; make comment.

Time for comment to appear under the chosen picture: 27s; total: 138s

Checked several sequences; the numbers were all in the twenties, so anything between 60s and 90s is possible (assuming my image is already open with its comments showing). Add in the time required to return to see the next comment (about the same) and you're not going to get away with less than 80s per commenter.

Or am I getting too picky in my old age?

Gone off again. To reach this space and comment. Open Rendo: 63s; open Forums: 48s; open Community centre: 28s; open this thread: 43s.

Grand total: 182s ... over three minutes to get here from scratch.

I would love to think the broadband, or the satellites, or the web, or little green men were to blame for the lethargic behaviour of the site, but since everything else I visit is responding quickly - well. Anyway, I think I've groused enough for one day, so I shall refrain from lengthening this thread. Anyone else want to join in?

It's pretty slow for me in the UK too and has been for a few days. Don't know if there are currently any peering problems between EMEA and US which might account for it

It's not Browser related, ISP related, Computer related or any other relation other than Rendo's "Halfast" site software, there was zero speed or loading problems before the Amazing Fantastic don't worry you'll get used to it "Revolution"........UhHuh

Every facebook, twitter etc icon you see is a small bit of javascript that connects back to the source server which slows down your page load times, not to mention the privacy issues relating to your browsing history as well. I use a browser extension called Disconnect which stops these scripts from running. Disconnect reports back that my page load times here at Renderosity are around 36% faster which translates out to around 8 seconds. There is a lot more going on here than just this but it does help in my case.

Thanks to Renderosity I was forced to install my first Ad blocking tools (uBlock origin and Ghostery). With those tools the site is quite fast again...

I'm in the UK and having the same issues here. No other art site I post on or visit has you waiting up to a minute to view an image in the gallery. It's like going back on the old days of dial-up again.

I run adblock plus/Ad Guard/Ghostery( Ghostery does the same thing as Disconnect) and it's still like walking through Mud, these Browser extensions are great and work well but they also add Time when doing their job albeit not nearly as much as allowing all the Adds and Trackers running around on Rendo. I've run those extensions for years and Rendo had maybe 2-3 Trackers getting quarantined all the time but since the Devolution[sic] there are like you say, every Web Tracker known to man infesting Rendo. That's what you get when you go the Social Media Route, this used to be an Art Site now it's just a Facebook wannabe "Facebook Southeast" Facebook Tennessee "Ya'll come back now...hear"....not very often until it speeds up around here and Ya'll start caring about Art again and not just Market-share

There are some of us, in fact, who do not use Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter and all the SocialMediaTimeWasters stuff. Plus much of the software Apple and others now think we cannot do without on our desktops. (There was a time you could 'custom install' what you wanted ... no longer; take it or leave it and upgrade or get left behind as the Web rushes on and on to the Great SocialChatterBlackHole.)

To put it simply, what I would like, being selfish, is a site where I can look at artwork posted by other members and make comments; where I can upload my own efforts; where I can buy any characters, textures, outfits, bits and pieces I need and read hints, tutorials and comments in the forums. And the ability to cruise through the pages at a reasonable speed.

Again we are in lockstep A_Sunbeam, I too have no use for Twitter or Facebook or any other Media Sites where mindless prattle is the rule of the day. Same here, no Farcebook, Twatter or any other waste of time sites but I guess we are in the minority. As the answer appears to be "live with it" Rendo is now a site I do not use very often and could soon join my list of 'not interested at all sites'.

Thanks for the link to this, it always faster and more effective when anything like this is resident on the Computer and not just the Browser stopping it before it even starts. Need to investigate it some first, one thing I have questions on is the flexibility of it, Extensions like Adblock and Ghostery etc, you can Whitelist certain sites turning the extension off for them, handy because some sites just won't work correctly with the extensions. I'm going to try it anyway, see how it works may just be the way to go, thank you for the clue-in Honzu.

I, too, feel like Renderosity is trying to force me into an alliance with Facebook.
Renderosity used to be the best of all the 3D sites I would visit. I like change and new things, but this has been for the birds.

Unfortunately I have to add my voice to this. I use an iMac running El Capitan (what a dorky name for an operating system!) and it takes a loooooong time to open an item's page in Marketplace, or to go from one page to the next. The times vary a bit, but the longest I've timed so far is 30 seconds (to get back to the Home Page from Marketplace). Coz' of that, I couldn't browse more than two pages worth of stuff as it just seems to take forever compared to any other site I go to -- didn't use to be this way -- started noticing it about a week ago. Many thanks if you can fix this.

I am on an iMac and I have the same problems with slow page loading times. No problem in other stores though.

I love my Safari browser but thought it might be the browser, but the same slow page loadings with Chrome and Firefox.

Buying anything is not possible at all as it takes way to long.

I do not understand why a good working Site was broken and now for a lot of Customers almost unusable.

Still slow even with ad block, ghostly and disconnect plug ins. I don't have time to look at webpage specifics (nor do I really want to) as to what exactly is slowing the page to almost a crawl. Needless to say it's unacceptable after more than a month of the website being changed. Also not a facebook user. If I wanted to be using facebook, I'd be on it rather than on renderosity.

Same issues, page loading is extremely slow and sometimes just locks up half loaded.
