Hi guys, just trying to work between poser 4 & bryce 4. I can make a model in poser & it comes out great, but when I eport it to bryce as an OBJ I lose alot of the textures. Any ideas what I am missing? Thanks, Tony

First up, export your poser figure(s) as OBJ files. It's best to export each figure as a seperate OBJ file if there is more than one figure in the scene. To help line thing back up in Bryce I use 2 large cubes - one front and right and the other rear and left. This will also help you match scales if necessary. (You can delete these when done) Start a new Bryce scene and import your figure. You might get a message saying it can't find such-and-such image. This is from the MAT file which is created when you exported the OBJ file. Simply locate it in the file selector which follows. You should now have a mapped and textured figure in Bryce. There is a wonderful (ahem) material in Bryce Free Stuff called "Default Skin" which you can use. This basically sets all of the setting for the skin and provides a decent bump texture as well. If you've any other problems - don't hesitate to ask. That's what we're here for. Paul

Thanks Paul, Well, I never know what I'll end up w/, but that is how I send them across. This last person & most for that matter, come across w/ the skin really darkened & greyed. lips & eyes are just dark grey. The hair sometimes is colored sometimes not. I havent been able to find any areas to "Export" OBJs any different from one time to the next. The eyes are what bug me the most, hate to lose the" life " in them * shrug* Thanks for the help, Tony

Select the eyes (there are three parts, so use ctrl click to select each part) and play with the specularity, metallicity and reflectivity setting. These only need to be very low (3 to 10 ish) and set a specular colour and halo. You'll be amazed at the difference it can make. Paul
