As far as I remember iRay needs the 64 bit version of Studio.

oh I forgot to tell that sorry, my system is 64 bit win10 with 32g mem ,amd 955 black 4 core, three nvidia 750 ti vid cards . the problem is everything I'm used to is gone,.

That's funny (not) I had the same experience. All I could do was go into DIM, reset the application paths and let DIM do its thing. It certainly caught me off guard. Except for that, 4.9 has been running like a champ. No problems with down loads or renders, IRAY or 3Delight. Mind you I am far from an expert in this field, but not quiet a noobe.

Thanks for the look's into this problem people.I uninstalled the dim version, then installed the studio manually, everything work's as it was supposed to in the first place? I guess the old way's are better manual labor has it's rewards ๐Ÿ˜

Daz recommends 64 gigs of RAM. I had no problem with it working, I just hate it. I much prefer Poser Pro 2012. I takes too long to render (Daz) I can't find anything. and now the fit to box only has the old characters like V4 in it so I can't conform any wardrobe to genesis. I can't figure that out at all.

I think you meant that they recommend 64bit? The website says 3+ gigs is recommended. 32Gigs is a LOT of RAM. I'm jealous of you goofygrape! :) I thought my 16 gigs was fancy.

Drifterlee, I was right where you were about a year ago. I started playing around with genesis 2 maybe a year ago, give or take a month or so, and eventually decided it was worth switching. I much prefer DAZ's library to Posers (except for the text size on my 4K monitor) and IRAY is definitely better than 3Delight as well as Poser Pro 2012's renderer. I can't compare it to the newest version (of poser) since I've never used it, but I'm pretty happy with IRAY now that I have an nvidia card. Whatever is messing up your render times is just some odd thing that needs to be identified. Hopefully someone here can help you with that. (I really sound like a DAZ fanboy, which I promise you I am not...read my posts at DAZ' forums:P )

Honestly, I tried Daz Studio about 3 times before finally deciding I liked it. I even paid for the medium priced version years ago in hopes that it would be better than poser was at the time...and I still hated it, lol. It took a lot of time digging through the forums (over at DAZ mostly) and asking dumb questions to finally get pictures that came close to what I was getting out of poser. The time it took seemed wasteful at the time, but I'm glad I stuck to it. I was already convinced that I preferred it before they released the IRAY stuff, and that pissed me off too, since almost no mac being sold today has an nvidia card in it (and I HATE windows computers, lol). But, I've even drank so much of the coolaid that I bought me a stupid windows machine to render with. I hate the OS far more than I hate DAZ' stupid connect thing, but I can live with it:) And my almost pretty pictures don't take hours to complete!

Well, I had my PC built three years ago with the future of graphics in mind. I am so glad I put in 64 gigs of RAM and the Nvidia 4 gig card. Still trying to learn Studio.
