Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:11 am)
As far as I can tell, Mike, there is not a way. The new "ground" is no such thing. It is a complete enclosed environment. If all you want is a ground plane, make the default one invisible, then load the Hi-Res groundplane from the primitives folder. It will behave the way you are expecting it to. At least, this has been my solution.
Next silly question..Had to reinstall Poser11...Since the search library still doesn't work, where is the primitives folder? Search just comes up with not found. When is SM going to fix this?? I really need the search unless you memorized all the vendor product names and what they are.

If you just want the grid not to show select the ground then go to Document Display at the left side of the pose window, Pick Element Display and select the smooth shaded.which in P11 is next to the last. I've saved that setting as my default. Never have to deal with the grid. But still have the construct as ground.

To get Rid of the Grid, (if it wasn't so early I'd make a rap out of this. )
Select the ground under Props. Then from the Display Menu, Object Style>Texture Shaded
EDIT; Oops, I missed raven's post. I'll go back to rapping now...

Keep in mind to render in Superfly the construct/ground is necessary to constrain the ray tracing in a contained area for more realistic renders avoid wasted render time.
Boni - this isn't true and you say it a lot. 1) It's not true because something else can be used instead, and 2) it's not true because there is no necessity to constrain rays.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
I just rendered this in 25 seconds with absolutely nothing else in the scene besides the car. One infinite light is the lighting.

Hi
This is kind of dumb but I can't figure it out. How do I show the ground plane without the grid on it?
The only way I can get it to come up now is with the grid lines.
