Subject: Adding Toe Bone to Shoes that don't have them can it easily be done?

Have a story I am making renders to Illustrate and have V4 in a pair of flat shoes I picked up somewhere a long time ago that I just found out have have no toe bone. I have a scene where I need my character on her tip toes. Instead of going back through 20 some renders and replacing the shoes with ones that have toe bones so I can get V4 up on her toes. How difficult is it to just take the shoes which are a figure (CR2) and add the toe bones to them and not loose any morphs etc in the shoes?

If you know of a Tut to do this that would be great. Me in the set up room is like pouring gasoline on a fire. I typically make things worse then they were to start with.

TIA Gary

I assume the shoes are PP2s and are Left and Right shoes. I assume in frame zero, you have them adjusted to fit your V4's default zero pose. Delete V4 at this time. Point at each shoe PP2 in turn. For Left shoe, as example, go into setup room, then open Library, Go to V4 in the Figure sub-library, and click. Poser will pop-up a window saying it will add bones or something like that. Accept. You may also need to click on the Grouping Tool, and select Autogroup ( to create the toe material zone of the mesh - which is different from the toe material of the Material Room, yes, 3D CG is a pain). Exit the room. Left Shoe is now rigged as a new CR2. Repeat with Right Shoe PP2. If you get an error message saying some polygons are not mapped to a bone, you must use Grouping Tool and find those orphaned polygons and simply add them to either Toe or Foot part.

I would add that you need only add the bones for shin, Foot and Toes or Toe, as is the case. You won't need the bones for the rest of V4, in your case.

Infinity I took a real hard look at the shoes which are figures. Took them into the setup room and the toe, foot and shin bones are there.

What appears to be missing is the groups. The shoes have toe groups and no foot groups. So based on the above I just use the grouping tool and sue the auto group? Going to get the gas can out and mess around and pour more fuel on the fire.

Thanks

So those were shoe CR2, not PP2. Try Autogroup first, if not working right, abandon ( do not save !! ). If Autogroup has failed, use manual. I understand perfectly well how you feel with that gas can etc ha ha !!
