Subject: Puzzeling alert in DS 4.9

pappy411 ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2016 at 9:13 PM · edited Thu, 12 September 2024 at 10:26 PM

Would someone please enlighten me on what the attached alert means in Latest DS4.9 release? How do you connect to what the program wants, what does the connection affect in DS 4.9. The program was installed with Daz Installer.. I deleted the program and reinstalled but get the same alert. Running Windows 10 64 bit. Thanks, Pappy

Hello pappy411,

I get the same error and did not found a way to correct it. After connecting manually, all is working fine on my side. Best regards,

PostgresSQL CMS is the Content Management Service for DS. And serves as the connection from Daz Studio to your account database at Daz3D. If its not running you are likely to have issues with Smart content or any of the live store functions in Daz Studio.

Have you install the Postgres SQL CMS (64 Bit) component, as it is not part of the Program Base?

I am also having the same problem and I have too and followed the FAQ's on this subject at DAZ's site. Nothing seems to fix this problem. I will just have to continue without smart content! Cheers

Thank you. The "PostgreSQL" is in the Daz install manager download page. Seems like it should have been included in the 4.9 install package. Pappy

I am also getting that error, and I have uninstalled, reinstalled. I am also using Win 10 Pro 64 bit. Its funny...sorta...my laptop does not get that error, it is Win 10 64 bit also.

And I have the newest version of DS installed on my Win10 laptop and it's working fine. Works fine on my Windows 8 laptop too, and I have all programs set up to install to the D drive by default - even have the user folders on D and DS hasn't gotten confused.

What security software is being used on the machines which are giving the error?

I'm using Bitdefender, on both the desktop and Laptop. I don't know if this helps any, but my desktop crashed. Originally it was a Win 7 Pro then got the free upgrade. When I rebuilt my desktop it was from a Win 10 DVD. All seemed good when the install was finished, when I reinstalled DAZ 4.9 the problems started. DIM down loaded two versions of PostgreSQL on was a beta. Every time I restarted my PC it would it would install one and uninstall the other. Finally the installs stopped. but the errors didn't.

You can have only one version of PostgreSQL installed, so the uninstall was correct - it shouldn't make a huge difference which you have installed, unless it's a really old version, as long as you do have one installed.
