I am still using DSPRO 4.8, but I am interested in 4.9. I haven't upgraded yet because of my Categories. I don't use install manager or smart content, preferring to use my own system of libraries and categories. I have put a lot of hours constructing my system and the idea of starting from scratch is not appealing at all. I have heard from some people that when upgrading to 4.9, their categories do not transfer over. I would like to hear from some people who use categories and have upgraded. Has your experience been positive or negative? Is it worth it to upgrade? Do you have any advice that might help?

I realize this is a lot to ask, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry this is a late reply to your question, but at this point I believe that all the issues have been solved.

You will want to Export your User data FIRST. Then upgrade. Then re-import your User data. Its very important you save your data first. Its just the nature of the beast.
