As a follow on to this....
....and you spend the time before you get home figuring out which dials, skin and hair you can use to recreate them.
I am so frustrated! I've used Poser for many years, progressing from the earliest basic characters to Michael 4 and Victoria 4. But I can't go beyond. I just don't have the money. It was so easy to go from M3 and V3 to M4 nd V4. And even the clothes fit each other. Now if I want to upgrade my Michaels and Victorias, I have to get the DAZ installerI
The latest clothing won't fit anything but Genesis. What in God's name is Genesis? It doesn't look like its going to get any better. I have looked at the latest Michael and Victoria character creations. To me. not that different from M4 and V4. Why can't I simply upgrade to the next Michael and Victoria like I was able to do in the past?
Why has DAZ made it so difficult?
And costly?
I guess I know that answer!
AutoFit will convert clothing from the previous generation to the current without any add-ons - so V4/M4 to Genesis, Genesis to Genesis 2 Female or Male, Genesis 2 Female/Male to Genesis 3 Female/Male. It's also possible to use the Transfer Utility to convert morphs. There are add-ons to use AutoFit to skip generations, and there's GenX 2 for a smoother morph conversion. Textures can be used on the next geenration up to Genesis 2, Genesis 3 does require add-ons to use older textures (as does skipping two or more generations).
I'm not sure there is autofit in Poser, that's a DAZ thing. Don't know what to tell you on that romangirl, but DAZ is no longer in the business of making content for Poser. Some of the PA's on the DAZ site still do, but the company itself doesn't - at least to the best of my knowledge. Genesis 3, the newest version, does not come with a direct Poser Port, though I understand there is a work around for that. On the DAZ side of things, outside of shoes and skirts, everything from the previous generations autofits pretty automatically.
