You know you're a Poser addict when you're more interested in the clothes women are wearing than the women wearing them, and you're a straight male.

And to add my own...

You know you are a poser addict when you watch a movie and think, "I wonder how I can do that in Poser?"

You are poser addict if you see beautiful woman, look at her hair and state: "Wow, Koz Long Hair"!

That is so true. In my case, you know you're a Poser addict when you ignore the latest versions of Victoria because they're not made to work in Poser and you're happy staying with Victori 4.

The best answer I've seen to this question was offered maybe 15 years ago now, by former Rosity member Allerleirauh (pretty sure I spelled that right). She said she had become so immersed in 3D graphics work that when she found herself in line at the grocery she wanted to photograph her fellow shoppers' elbows, for use in skin texture creation. Lemme tellya, that really impressed me. If you're so lost in Posering that people become just texture source material, you've really gone deep.

My own best answer is about the time I was using Poser, maybe back in 2007 or 2008? Umm. I was Posering, and I decided to take off my shoes. But I got a knot in my shoelaces, while trying to remove the second shoe. And my first impulse was to reach for the mouse, to click the Undo button. I actually reached for, but did not grab, that mouse. So maybe you know you're a Poser addict when you try to untie a shoelace knot using Undo. This isn't an altogether satisfying response, to me, because it really works with any number of software packages, and isn't Poser-specific.

I suppose I can generalize from these two responses, to say, "You know you're a Poser addict when you begin to lose touch with reality." Umm.

Okay, third edit. Boni's initial post actually said almost the same thing as the Allerleirauh anecdote, and sort of scoops my generalization. So I'm left with the lame shoelace thing. Dangit, dangit.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

you know you're a Poser addict when you, in your sleep, dream as if you're inside Poser, and are able to manipulate your entire dreamscape [environ, people, clothing, lighting, etc.] by choosing different options with a click of a button... [this happens to me quite regularly, & tis uber-entertaining whilst it's happening, even with the not-so-pleasant dreams]...

Nah, that's just anyone working or hobbying in CGI. When I worked for Infogrames, the BBC show "Walking with Dinosaurs" was the big thing over here. We were all giving it a pasting, saying how the models lacked weight, inertia, and generally looked unconvincing.

Claire says I ruined so many movies for her by pointing out the flaws in the CG elements. That and being a generally annoying git.

I remember one time when I was going on a flight and I recognized the figures used in the flight safety pamphlet (Poser native figures like Simon and Sydney, figures I don't use anymore).

And I chuckled to myself knowing that I've seen them naked...

Another thing I'd like to point out is that while people may have a thousand selfies and other photographs stored on their PC, I have a thousand renders stored in My Pictures...

Say you might be a redneck if you use Poser ;)

I don't have any Poser addict Stories but I've been a Artist since before CGI n I only dated girls that would make good models for my Art. So Tony if you get a real live girl n draw the topology out on her first.

CGI things ,I've looked for CGI physics on the dashboard in a storm. look for the Suns settings on the phone to turn the brightness down. Though to model a new tire when I had a flat.

Definitely NOT a redneck and an addict is not exactly synonymous with junkie. In my book, they vary by degrees. A junkie then is often worse off than just an addict.

i 😍 the poser 7 interface and library look. and rendering 64 bit.

i 😍 the poser7 setup room, doesn't delete things on me.

my only problem is, since pp12, i moved all the dress/clothing mats to their respective folder under characters.

if there was something to make poser7/pro read pz2 files under the character folder, i'd be in poser realms half my nights. 😉
