Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 21 1:30 pm)
thanks for the fast reply. I have both 2014 pro and poser 11.
What i do is quiet simple to test ist (in both releases).
1)I load the standard scene with andy.
i hit the live simulation. In poser pro 2014 andy melts away, thats fine as i modified no settings. In poser 11 andy does nothing. Just stais there as if no physics are applied. I tried it on the original poser 11 release and on the lates updated version.
finally i tried to use a prop, and the prop melts away just the way it shoul be. I tried to export andy as wavefront object and imported andy as prop, and there it works too...
just the figures dont seem to respond to the physics (soft bodies). I tried othe figures too.
regards, Markus
@ Boni No I meant that My Andy does melt the way it is suppose to. Not sure what the issue is for CISI but soft body does what it is suppose too for me on my machine at work. Just tried it with PP2014 and it also works. One thing to look at which I found is there are three check boxes on the properties Tab the top one being Active. If you uncheck that box then Andy will not melt. Make sure it is active. Also if you have the ground selected as the object and unselect it Andy will drop straight thru instead of blobbing.

Poser needs to be able to write the temp files for dynamics simulations, so the need for Administrative privileges makes sense. Presumably you would have had the same trouble with cloth and hair sims as with Bullet. It's good to know that user settings are something to check, if Poser simulations aren't working.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Its been awhile since I messed with bullett physics but IIRC you cant apply it to the entire figure(else it melts), you have to paint weight maps on areas you want to jiggle or sag set the rest of the figure/object at zero or one (whatever none is).. Seems like the default would be none, but it isnt.
Y'all have a great day.

Hi,
could it be, that bullet physics soft bodies do not work for figures? They work fine on props for me. But when i use figures they seem to be usable only as rigid dynamics and not as soft dynamic. Im sure i used it for figures too. but maybe it was with poser pro 2014....
